OVERVIEW

Exceptional tone, exciting playability and classic Martin good looks.

The Martin 00015M Acoustic Guitar looks like it came right out of the history books and it delivers a sound for the ages. In its 175-year history, Martin has set more guitar design trends than can be counted. The company still embraces design techniques introduced many years ago to create their guitars' timeless tone.

The Martin 00015M offers a perfect blend of vintage features and modern technology to create an acoustic guitar of exceptional tone, playability and classic Martin good looks. Back, sides and top are bookmatched solid genuine mahogany with A-frame Sitka Spruce X-bracing and a traditional maple bridge-plate. The 14-fret neck-also genuine mahogany-is joined with an East Indian rosewood fingerboard and headplate. The traditional rosewood belly-bridge is fitted with a bone saddle, and the nut is fashioned from bone as well.

The Martin 000-15M is embellished with a dark mahogany stain and a satin lacquer finish. The end result is a guitar of beauty and simplicity with a warm, rich mahogany voice. Includes case.

      Comments about Martin 15 Series 00015M Acoustic Guitar:

      I was looking for a guitar with a more balanced overall sound for fingerpicking than my Dreadnaught had.After looking at a series of vintage Guilds, and playing many Taylors and other Martins, I decided on the 000-15M. The tone is unreal, and I paid Less than what other major retailers were asking. I have played a lot of expensive guitars over the years, but this guitar really stands out. I like the idea that it is a "no frills" model. No gold plated tuners, or pearl inlay, just a brilliant tone, great action, and superior tuners. I love this guitar.

        Comments about Martin 15 Series 00015M Acoustic Guitar:

        You know how some cars just make you smile when you drive them? How some clothes just make you feel like a million? Well, if you're an acoustic guitar lover, the Martin 00015m is an instrument that will make you smile every time you play it. For years, my "go to" guitar has been a 1964 Gibson B25. Since I got my 00015m in November, 2014, I have rarely picked up the Gibson - and when I do, I end up putting it down after a few minutes and going back to the 00015m. As good as the Gibson sounds - the 00015M sounds clearer, more evenly balanced, has that Martin ring on the top, is incredibly playable, and is so beautifully unadorned! I love simplicity and function. This guitar is 100% simplicity and function. If you want inlays and rosettes and gloss - fine - go pay hundreds or thousands for that art. But if all you want to pay for is a truly quality instrument - look no farther. One bit of advice: keep the strings fresh on this instrument - the overtones you'll hear are stunning. And even though I've always been highly biased against light strings - this instrument sounds wonderful with them.

          Comments about Martin 15 Series 00015M Acoustic Guitar:

          I've player the guitar for 15 years. I've owned this one for 3 years now and here's everything you should know if you are thinking about buying this guitar:

          -It's incredibly comfortable;

          -Rich sound (comes with .012 strings, powerful sound and feels more comfortable then most of the .010 guitars i've ever played);

          -It's absolutely beautiful (amazing body shape, lovely vintage tuners which works perfectly by the way);

          -Affordable price;

          -Well made guitar, flawless design (it's a Martin, you should trust them);

          Basically, it's a lifetime instrument for a reasonable price. It's not a eletric-acoustic guitar (some people actually prefer this way, so I wouldn't call it a con), but that is something you can change. Just go for it.

            Comments about Martin 15 Series 00015M Acoustic Guitar:

            everyone that owns a Martin...is in love with a Martin. I've been playing over 50 years, high end Gibson and Guild guitars that I LOVE. Had the opportunity to get my bucket list guitar and I couldn't be happier. Out of the case you are immediately taken with the scent of the wood and the unique look of the guitar...but then the best part...you pick it up and play it and know right away this guitar is a winner...set up out of the case. A joy to play and it sounds great and after your session...there it is again...the gently scent of the wood wafts pleasantly to your nostril. This is a great little guitar!!!

            Comments about Martin 15 Series 00015M Acoustic Guitar:

            I absolutely love this guitar. I had been eying it at a local store for some time and slowly saving but once the Labor Day 15% sale came on Musicians Friend this purchase was a no-brainer. I saved a ton of money.

            I play the guitar with a thumb-pick in open tuning and it sounds absolutely beautiful. I tune to open-D. I also put Medium Gauge strings on it and I still feel it might need a slight truss bar adjustment, but it handled the strings just fine. Compared to my buddies HD-28 I honestly think this guitar is better and just a fraction of the price. It is not the loudest guitar, and doesn't necessarily keep up volume-wise in a bluegrass situation, but it definitely projects quite well.

            CON - the only con I have found with this guitar is its natural finish stain, though extremely gorgeous, does not do well with impacts. I have other guitars with thicker finishes and never realized how much a good finish does to resist impacts with walls and during drops. I play live, jam, and busk and really put my guitars through a lot. This is my one guitar that really struggles to hide any sort of mark and they come frequently on this one and show bright against the dark stain. I do think it adds some character, especially on this no frills style acoustic.

            Other than that I have no complaints in my first 3 months of ownership and it is definitely a daily go-to guitar for me. I would highly recommend to any guitar player.

                Comments about Martin 15 Series 00015M Acoustic Guitar:

                All my life I've been playing guitars which I've borrowed from my friends and finally, I've saved up enough money over the last 10 years to make a move. I went into the store and tried a couple of Maton's because I really wanted a Maton. However, none of the Matons they had around my price range gave me what I needed. I went to see what else was on display and immediately, I saw this Martin that seem to be speaking to me. I picked it up, took it the back room, had a strum, finger picked a couple of notes, and whew, I fell in love with it instantly. The tone and clarity of the notes were amazing. You can finger pick Hallelujah on this guitar and you will have the world in your hand.
                It was the last one they had and it was a display model. I didn't mind it. The small body was really comfortable to hold. I love the satin finish and that fragrant smell of Mahogany. They have kept this guitar to a minimalist look and feel but with plenty of heart and soul.
                Also, if it still sounded so good after being on display at the shop for 6 months or more, it's gotta be a keeper.
                It's my first and only guitar for now, and quite possibly for life (unless I can muster up another batch of coins to get my next Martin). The question of course is which one?
                One more thing...this guitar was not made for rigorous rock concert bashing - strumming. Give it the respect it deserves and you will be rewarded with pure joy!

                  Comments about Martin 15 Series 00015M Acoustic Guitar:

                  If you're wondering what guitar is right for you, then you're asking yourself the right questions. Sound? Feel? Price?

                  For me, it took 3 years to find the right new acoustic for me and the 00015m is IT!. I spent countless hours going into shops, playing every brand and every model I could find, and nothing really spoke to me. Sure, some sounded amazing, but the price didn't fit my budget, or they were so bright they sounded fake. (cough, Taylor)

                  So by accident I picked up a 00015m. I thought it was the D15m and started playing it. BLOWN away. I was even more blown away when I realized I had the 000 body. So I then got the D15m expecting it to be even better. To my surprise, it wasn't.

                  The 000 offers everything. A perfectly EQ sound, look, feel, character, smell... it just spoke to me. If you've been playing Dreadnoughts because you need more volume, I encourage you to go check this guitar out. It's just as loud if not louder than many Dreads out there. And as far as price is concerned... I would consider this to be the best, very best guitar in it's class and then some.

                  Like I said, it took me 3 years of looking. Not just on weekends but all the time. I'm thrilled I stopped at the 000 and it may perhaps be the last acoustic I ever buy. Try it, listen to it, love it.

                  If I had to make one disclaimer, you must know that this guitar does not come with electronics. Be thankful for this. Martin uses Fishman.. and nothing against them... but there are just so mych better pickups out there. An LR Baggs will be in mine soon.. but I've also heard a K&K Pure Mini in one and it sounded awesome! And of course.. nothing can ever compare to the beautiful tone of a mic on this acoustic. It's a shining star.

This is a love story I have gone through many a guitars in the last few year and you have had the reviews. It fits my body and my ear. I have been through many a guitar over the last few years. This one I will never let go.

                        I own a Martin 1973 D-35 and a 1994 Custom -15.
                        I was looking at the CEO-7 and the 000-15M. I'm glad I went with the 000-15M.
                        Similar to the smaller 1940's mahogany guitars, it has very balanced sound, great for chording, bar chords, fingerpicking and it's very comfortable to play. Great smaller Martin Guitar.
