Comments about Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
From the first time I saw a Martin guitar, I wanted one. But I never seemed to be able to afford one. I bought this one used at a music store. After talking the owner into taking a couple of cheap amps and a cheap guitar on trade I was able to buy it. The first thing that my wife noticed was how loud it was. This guitar is my dream come true. I love this guitar! When someone comes up and asks me about it, I can't wait to tell them all about it. This guitar is awesome!!

Comments about Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
I bought a new Martin D28 and a new Taylor DN3 during the same week last year. You know that I always wanted that D28! Well the Taylor has turned out to be the better of the two guitars. The Taylor can't match the Martin's Booming voice but in all other areas it can match or best the Martin D28. You ask, would I ever sell my D28? Never! The Martin is more than just a guitar. Then again so is the DN3 Taylor. Both of these guitars will be with me until the day I die. Now I need to find a good Classical guitar.

Comments about Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
What can I say that has not already been said about this iconic guitar? I bought my first D-28 brand-new in 1972 after saving money by basically starving myself for a month. I wish that I still owned that one! Since then, I have been through a lot of guitars, many of them more expensive, but none of them better. I now own a used D-28, complete with dings and scratches put there by its previous owner. It is my favorite guitar. It goes with me to bars and music jams, and it is the one that I usually pick up when I'm playing at home. It feels as comfortable as an old pair of jeans, and always sounds great. Every now and then I think that a new guitar would be an improvement in that elusive sound that I have been pursuing my entire life. So I go to a music store and try one, always leaving it at the store and returning home to my old plain-Jane D-28. Did I say that I love it?

Comments about Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
In the eighties I had a Martin HD-28 and sold it to buy a Gibson J-200. I sold that to buy a Gibson Hummingbird. I sold that to buy a Guild D-40 Bluegrass Jamboree. I sold that and looked around for months. I went back to a Martin D-28 and finally found what I was looking for. It's voice is glorius and pleases me like nothing else. Buy one if you can!
Comments about Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
High Quallity is the D28
The D28 is the standard for a reason.
I had a D28 some years ago and was talked into selling it. I have been sorry about it ever since. This new D28 makes up for it and then some.
It is pricey but in many ways - you get what you pay for.
Comments about Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
I have been completely satisfied with the Martin D-28. It is a true joy to play. I upgraded from a D-16GT. I liked the D-16GT a lot but the quality and clarity of the sound in The D-28 has won me over. I know the D-28 is only gonna continue to sound better. Thanks Musicians Friend for a great deal on a sweet acoustic!
All solid wood. Ebony fretboard and bridge. Bone nut and saddle. This guitar had all the features I was looking for. Grover butterbean tuners are nice. To me this guitar looks beautiful. Some acoustics with the inlays and stuff just become to decorated for me. This guitar fits me just right!
Craftsmanship seems superb. The D-28 feels solid and has a nice weight to it. Not heavy but not gonna blow out of your hand with the wind either. Sounds and plays beautifully. The quality and clarity of each note is amazing. I can hear the notes in chords so well now.
These guitars are definitely pricey but worth it in my opinion. Compared to everything else nowadays. I was lucky to get a gently used return from musicians friend. Also used a 15% coupon and saved a bunch. So considering the savings i had to give it a ten.

Comments about Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
I've owned and played many d-28s for over my 30+ years experience and recently invested in a new HD-28 and although I also love it, I recently tied out a new Martin D-18, and WOW! Bought it on the spot! For what ever reason I always thought that I was a rosewood guy, but to my ear the D-18 is just more ballanced and sounded more like the sound in my head that I've been chasing all of these years but overlooked because of the plain looks of the D-18. Love them all but if I could only keep one, it would have to be the plain looking D-18. Try the D-18 out and record with it and you'll never look back. I wanted to think that the rosewood was always my favorite, but I guess looks aside, the D-18 wins out in ballanced sound, to my ear anyway.
Comments about Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
I have had my old D28 over 40 years. Guess what I would take for it. Warren Buffett might could buy it.It is a wonderful old instrument with a great sound. I play Bluegrass and it is the perfect guitar for what it has done all these years.Great action, wonderful tone, booming bass. This is probably the best guitar the Martin factory ever produced.
