I have had this guitar for 10 years and it sounds amazing. This is a fine guitar at a very reasonable price.

Now that it has aged, you cannot recreate the cool look factor. The sound got better as it aged. Electronics are as durable as it gets. I HAVE NO REGRETS AND AWESOME GUITAR !
I was attracted to this guitar initially because of the beautiful satin finish. I was surprised that the good looks did not last a year. I pamper this guitar and still the satin finish faded and developed a high shine in all areas touched when playing. Guitar ploys fine but for the money I expected the finish to hold up. It looks old and weathered after less than a year of light playing. All Martin would do is have their local service person try to shine up the rest. Martin made no other attempt to make this right and worst of all did not seem to care.
I had played an Alvarez for 24 years and decided I wanted an American made guitar. I have not been disappointed. The sound is just great and I currently play through our church PA system with great results. I have owned the guitar for about 2 years and the sound just gets better. I tried more expensive guitars but this one was just right for me.
I owned an Alvarez acoustic for 24 years and decided to purchase this Martin. This was an affordable priced guitar that really sounded great. I have owned it for 2 years and play in church over a Marshall acoustic amp. It sounds great and I would buy it again if the need arose. It makes a great acoustic and electric sound.
I'm not sure if this is similar to the DXME but since I could not find anywhere to review the DXME I will use this guitar. I am a very seasoned and advanced player (jazz/blues/bluegrass/slide). I spent about a year looking for a good acoustic guitar and even though I was willing to spend up to $****, I never found anything that sounded as good as this. An important difference here is that there is no cutaway on the DXME. The pickups basically suck but I'm planning to put nicer electronics in it soon. If you want warmth, strong punch, and balance heavily towards the low end, this should be your pick. By the way, if you're a true lover a music, I think you can stand to compromise on the cosmetic aspects of an instrument if they are outweighed by the sonic cababilities of the instrument. For the money the DXME is awesome!
