Comments about Martin DRS2 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Own a similar Taylor at same price point. I believe the Martin has a better sound. The Taylor is intonated and plays well but the Martin sounds better.

          Outstanding!

          By Ed Burns

          from Reno, NV

Comments about Martin DRS2 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I don't have a lot of cash to spend on a "higher end" Martin, but I love Martins and play this one proudly. The best doesn't have to be reserved for those with a lot of money. This one will give you all the playability and quality you expect from Martin at a price point that is really attractive, and well within reach for most. I comes with a nice Martin case, and is ready for the stage, street, or where ever you perform. Add a humidification device and you are ready to roll. I couldn't be happier.
Basic solid wood Martin dreadnaught with Richlite fingerboard and bridge Stratobond neck and pickup factory installed. A strap button is factory installed so no need to drill holes in an expensive instrument. I hated that in previous Martin's I've owned. The DRS2 is a rock solid guitar that will last for a lifetime and plays like butter. Bends are extremely smooth with the the Richlite fretboard. Stratobond has been used for many years as rifle and gunstocks. It is a little heavier than solid wood Martin necks, but probably ten times stronger. No neck warping here!
Incredible! The solid spruce top on my DRS2 has some uneven grain, but it gives the guitar a unique look. I've played and owned many Martins that cost much more, and the DRS2 plays and sounds right up with the best. Hecho en Mexico at Martin's Navajoa factory in Sonora, the DRS2 is a guitar that is an incredibly well made instrument with all the quality expected with Martin's reputation. If it has Chris Martin's name on it, he stands behind it. Thats good enough for me!
Any worries? Lifetime warranty to the original owner. I'm looking forward to watching this guitar age. This is a high end Mexican made guitar well worth the cash, and should outlast me. If it doesn't, I'll send it back and they will fix it. That is, if it is a quality issue and not my fault.

Looked for two months before I found this gem ) You can not go wrong with the Fishman Sonitone pickup system includes undersaddle transducer with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls. Good enough to take to the studio or touring on the road
Solid Sapele sides & back, solid Sitka spruce top - Excellent value in a solid wood guitar
Hard to beat this Martin for the price with Fishman pick up and case included
