Pros

  • Perfect Action
  • Working Tuner

Cons

Comments about Martin OMC-16OGTE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Nice quality and sound is good. I like the body shape and size, but is a bit thinner than my other Martin's, so the sound is a bit thinner as well. Electronics work great and who knew... a working tuner. The action is low and nut width is perfect for fingerpicking. I dont like the low E tone but sounds OK plugged in. Bright mid range and crystal clear highs with the factory strings anyway. I am not dissapointed. Its a Martin.

      Great Guitar

Comments about Martin OMC-16OGTE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I love this little Martin, it's everything I need in a guitar. It's a smaller bodied model, so it's comfortable to play, and it's acoustic electric, so if I want to record or get a bit more volume when playing with friends I can just plug in.

The only "drawback" is that the fretboard and bridge are synthetic material. I don't care about that in the least, but some purists might want to make sure their guitar is 100% wood. Again, I don't care. The fretboard doesn't affect the sound, feels as good as the highest quality natural fretboards, and is significantly cheaper. You could maybe make the argument that a natural bridge would sound better... But I played a few guitars with Ebony bridges and I actually liked this one more.

Take home message: I'd recommend this guitar. If you want a little bit more acoustic projection, you might want to go with a larger bodied model, but that's less a commentary on this model and more just how physics works. I'm very satisfied with this guitar.

            Amazing Guitar

Comments about Martin OMC-16OGTE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I resently lost my Taylor 710CE and decided to try something different. Thought about a Guild and a Gibson but after doing alot of research and watching videos on how they are built I went with Martin. I picked this guitar because it is in my price range and I'm a sucker for trying out new stuff(ie the Roland AP-1). The sound of this guitar blew me away. I have been playing guitar for 45 years and have been in a working band for the last 15 years. I know a good sound when I hear it. I was a little skeptical about the Black Richlite fingerboard but forgot all about it while playing. I'm hoping it holds up to my fingernails better than the Rosewood. Smaller body fits me better than my Taylor and its a blast to play. I'm not going to say it sounds better than the Taylor, just different. Will I ever buy another Taylor? Probably not. I love the sound of the martin and will most likly stick with them from now on. P.S. Musicians Friend, you guys rock. what a great deal you gave me.

Comments about Martin OMC-16OGTE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I saved up for this and it was very worth it. It sounds and feels amazing. It's arguably the best sounding guitar I've played and is also the extremely comfortable due to its small body. I encourage anyone with the money who is looking for a nice guitar to get this one.

Bought this as my first "nice" guitar", arrived with extremely high action, Local Martin Tech tells me it needs neck reset and Martin wouldn't do it!Sent back to factory where they charge me for shipping and take 2 months to install a new saddle!?Martin=Mistake

            Very smooth guitar.

Comments about Martin OMC-16OGTE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

What a great guitar! I`ve played many guitars over the years but this is by far the most comfortable guitar I`ve ever played. The neck is so smooth and the tone has the sound that only Martin can produce. You can sit and play for hours and just get lost in it. The quality is amazing compared to the price you will pay. Great guitar!!!
