OVERVIEW

As the name suggest, this one is built to perform with a sweet tonewod mix and Fishman electronics.

The Martin custom GPCPA5 rosewood acoustic-electric guitar combines that world-famous Martin sound with the contemporary playability of an electric guitar. Its unique body design blends a tight waist with a deep body. The end result is a tone that is well-defined, plus a massive amount of power and projection. Its solid Sitka spruce top is braced perfectly to give you a rich, full-bodied tone that is versatile enough for any musical situation. The body is rounded out with forest-friendly rosewood HPL back and sides to give you an attractive visual look.

The custom GPCPA5 rosewood features a very playable laminate birch neck, with a Performing Artist neck taper. This precision-cut neck has a fast FSC Certified Richlite fingerboard, and a 1-3⁄4 in. nut width, to give you the right amount of spacing between the strings. This guitar was crafted to be a "players dream," to give you easy access across the entire fingerboard.

Looking for electronics? The Martin custom GPCPA5 rosewood comes complete with an onboard Fishman Sonitone preamp. This soundhole-mounted-preamp features easy-to-use rotary controls for Volume and Tone. The controls are mounted conveniently under the soundhole for easy access while you are performing. All you have to do is plug in and play. You’ll have a studio-quality sound right out of the box.

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series Custom GPCPA5 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have not had this Martin long. When I first opened the box, I was a little taken back from what I thought to be a full box. A little smaller but I picked it up, tuned it, and now I can't seem to set it down. This smaller than expected guitar produced the sound of a giant! A really good but for the Martin low in. I have a Lovebreed that I was proud of. The Martin plays itself. An awesome choice.

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series Custom GPCPA5 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Order Date: 1/13/2016 - This Guitar Custom 2015 GPCPA5 Cutaway Acoustic-Electric, First I would like to say this is a sweet guitar, it does have the custom stamp made for musicians friend, the owners ID card was a little different when it arrived, at that point, it really didn't matter, I know how a guitar should feel, after talking with Harry @ Martin, the guitar is made of every thing that's listed for the GPCPA5, and maybe them some, just that if you search for it, your not going to find it. The guitar is solid, well constructed framing, i went through six acoustics guitars last year and I settled with the two Martins
the playability makes the guitar a joy to play and i have a selection to choose from

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series Custom GPCPA5 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had 3 guitars to choose from Taylor 1 Series, Breedlove Concert and Martin GPCPA5. In the end I wound up with Martin because of the bottom end boom it had over the other two guitars. The Taylor was too bright, Breedlove was awesome but a bit too dark (Mahogany) where as this guitar checked all my boxes.

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series Custom GPCPA5 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have a number of Guitars, Taylor DN-3 with Lyric Pick-up, Tak12 String, Peavey GW-3, TakGN93CE-NAT, and none of these sound nor play as well as the Martin. I have always liked Taylor the best, but the Martin overshadowed the Taylor the first time I played it. Now I cannot put it down. I go back to the others to try, with new strings, new set up, but I always end up with the Martin in my hands. For the price nothing else comes close.

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series Custom GPCPA5 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I ordered a Taylor 110 ce, which was a great guitar, but sent it back. The Martin had a stronger sound, a better and perfect set up, and has a stronger fuller sound. The neck is far better and the darker rosewood hpl looks better to me. Very pleased with this guitar. But it does not come with a gig bag like Taylors do, though it sounds and plays much better than the Taylor 110 ce.
