Martin

Since its debut in 1931, the D-28 has remained the standard by which all large-bodied, steel-string guitars are measured.

The tone of the Martin D-28 Acoustic Guitar is what separates it from all other guitars. It has a solid Sitka spruce top with glossy finish, special East Indian rosewood for the polished back and sides, and genuine ebony fingerboard and bridge. With its rich, resonant warmth and punchy volume, the D-28 is particularly well-suited to music styles requiring loud, powerful rhythm accompaniment. Includes Martin deluxe hardshell case and limited lifetime warranty.

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This is my first Martin and I couldn't be happier with it. The instrument itself is as beautiful as the sound it produces. Chris Martin says his iconic company produces "a tone wrapped in wood." Yep...and what a tone it is!

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Most guitar players know that the Martin D-28 is the gold standard in acoustic dreadnaught guitars. I had been looking for a good deal on one online and found a a gently used one here in Musicians Friend. The price was really good so I took a leap of faith and purchased it. I expected to see some slight cosmetic issues but when it arrived it was spotless. It looked and played beautifully and I could not be more pleased. It is not often in this life that you get something that turned out better than you expected. I love it!!!!

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

As advertised. The best acoustic guitar I've ever played....will have lifelong enjoyment from this Martin. Finish, fit and attention to detail superb. Big huge rich sound...begs for you to play a booming G chord. Will never need to buy another acoustic guitar again.

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

My new (new to me) D-28 is more than I expected from a used guitar. It was in like new condition. I could not be happier. It even smelled new. Something magic happens when you hold and play a guitar that you have dreamed of owning your entire life. My only regret is I wish I could have gotten it a little sooner. At age 77 I don't have a lot of time to enjoy it but I will enjoy it as long as possible. Thank You Musicians Friend for the great deal on this Guitar.

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

It was described as being in near mint condition and it was. It still had the plastic on the pick guard. It arrived on time and was almost in tune.. I've wanted a Martin for a long time but always felt I couldn't afford one. Now that I have it I am very happy. The tone is great and it has great volume. You can play over people talking.
This is the first instrument I ever bought without playing it first.

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I knew a d-28 would be pricey, I knew it would be beautiful, I had know idea it would so thoroughly set itself so far above any acoustic I have played. The fullness of the sound is absolutely incredible, the richness and tone that this instrument creates is indescribable. Effortless harmonics and clarity, and natural volume that defies belief. Not to mention when your not playing you can't help but stare at it, it is in and of itself a piece of art. If you play a guitar, don't make a buy until you've put one of these in your hands, It lives up to the reputation.

This is a nice guitar! I purchased it as a "Gently Used" item, but I could not find any scratches or dents, just needed tuning. I always wanted a D 28 and for the price I paid for it, was an excellent deal! It is all I expect from a Martin. Thanks again Musicians Friend!
