Incredible sound, unbeatable value.
Martin has always made prudent use of natural resources, especially rare or endangered tonewoods. At the same time, its committed to building guitars of superior tone and playability that are affordable to every guitarist. The X Series more than meets both of these criteria.
This X Series Guitar features patented high pressure laminate (HPL) mahogany back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top, patented mortise and tenon neck construction, and professionally installed Fishman electronics. The result: great-sounding, great-playing guitars, that are environmentally friendly, and priced to fly out the door. This is one of Martins best values ever. The X Series affirms Martins commitment to providing an affordable and competitive option to players dedicated to live performance.
Martins X Series 00X1AE Java Mahogany Acoustic-Electric Guitar features the 00 platform, a 14-fret auditorium body design producing full, robust sound. Pairing the Sitka spruce top with Java mahogany HPL back and sides, the 00X1AE belts out rich clarity with plenty of projection. The mortise and tennon neck joint ensures optimal tone resonating from the instrument, while virtually eliminating drop-off in the finer dynamics.
The stratabond neck is a multilayered wood creation, bonding layers of wood under extremely high pressure. The material is then carved and finished in a conventional manner. The end result is a very strong neck that provides definition and articulate sustain from note to note.
The modified low oval neck shape, 25.4 scale, 1-11/16 nut width, and 16 radius provide comfort and dexterity when performing intricate movements and progressions along the black Richlite fretboard.
This X Series model features proven Sonicore pick-up technology with the Fishman Sonitone system, including "easy access" volume and tone controls conveniently and strategically located just inside the sound hole.
Dressed in a satin finish and featuring chrome tuners, chrome hardware, this guitar has the look and sound of a highly collectible Martin, but goes for a price that anyone can afford. Embrace the dream of owning your very own Martin guitar, at a price that is too good to pass up.
All X Series guitars arrive stage ready-----------------just plug them in and play. All X Series guitars also include a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

No complaints. Guitar stays in tune very well, sounds great and is easy to play/handle for long periods of time thanks to Martin's nice lower profile, slim body.
I walked into my local music store one day just out of boredom and when I walked into the acoustic room, it was right there on the wall. It was perfect for what I was looking for, sounds beautiful, good looking, it was a Martin, great sounding pickup and easy to play. At that point I knew it would be way out of my price range but I was a little over $500. Overall it was one of the best purchases I've made in a while. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone who likes beautiful guitars that aren't hard on your bank.
