After contemplating for quite some time whether I wanted the LXME or the LX1E, I opted for this one (LXME.) From my understanding, a solid wood wouldn't be as durable and couldn't withstand as much temperature or humidity change as this one.

Upon arriving at my door, I took the boxes out of the boxes, and the first thing I saw was a great-looking case! I didn't even know it prior, but Martin sells the LXME's with very solid, well-built gig-bags (not the cheapo's a lot of other companies give with their instruments!) The bag is quite padded, and the Little Martin fits snugly and comfortably inside.

When I took the guitar out, I was immediately impressed by the build quality. I couldn't find any single imperfection across the entire guitar, and everything seemed to be crafted carefully. I tuned the guitar up with the built-in Fishman Ion-T (I believe the newer ones have a newer model of electronics), and the tuner worked great and was simple to use. I strummed my first chord on this guitar, and it sang and resonated more than I knew any travel guitar could. The volume was very impressive considering the size, and the tone was very well-balanced. The guitar had a great mixture of tight lows, full mids, and bright highs. The small neck, to me, is extremely comfortable, (I have large hands but have always preferred smaller necks) and the action was very comfortable. The fretboard is on the soft side, and is a dream to play. As far as hardware goes, Martin really outdid themselves. I feel that my LXME had ideal action right out of the box, and there wasn't a buzz to be heard. This guitar did not require a set-up from the box. The tuners held a tune phenomonally, and everything functioned exactly as it should have.

Over time, (about a year-and-a-half,) only one problem has materialized with this guitar. It was a small problem with an easy fix, but a problem nonetheless. The wiring for the electronics inside the body was glued down when I first got the guitar, but the glue dissipated over time and the wires came loose. What this resulted in was a buzz coming from the wires vibrating slightly against the body of the guitar. I fixed the problem by reaching inside the body through the soundhole and taping the wires down every few inches.

Overall, aside from the loose wires, this guitar hasn't ceased to impress me. The sound, playability, and build quality are unmatched for the price. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a portable, comfortable, and surprisingly full-sounding guitar. You won't be dissapointed!

Comments about X Series LXME Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've always wanted one of these, and got one for my 18th. I tried it out in the shop, and tried the Taylor GS Mini. I instantly fell in love with the LXME and took it home. It's tiny! My parents told me it was ridiculously small, but it's perfect for me. I use it for Open Mic Nights, busking and other gigs.

I highly recommend this guitar. Perfect for people wanting a small guitar with a decent sound, for a decent price. GET IT!

Ed Sheeran has helped Martin sell a lot of LXME's and LX1E's by playing them. He released a signature LX1E. Don't get it! Tried it in the shop today. Not very good.

I got the "little" martin cause I have a small 001R small martin that I was very pleased with. However I didn't know this guitar was smaller than THAT! But once I started playing it, I liked it very much. Great little guitar and well worth the price. I'm glad I got it.

Comments about X Series LXME Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The guitar's playability and tonal quality are definitely not in question. However, I was far from impressed with the accuracy of the Fishman tuner that was built in. It's not very easily tuned using only the electronics provided. Also, the guitar itself doesn't seem to hold tune that well. Perhaps an upgrade in the tuners would help with this. I will probably only rely on the built in tuner in a pinch and stick to my planet waves pedal or snark for more precise tuning during gigs. On the plus side, the pickup itself works nicely and the gig bag is great.

What's the point? Not small enough to be travel efficient, just small enough to be annoying. Neck may feel comfortable , but frets are too close together. I travel with an Indonesian strat, which plays just like my 1969 American strat (thru travel weight amplification), is small and perhaps most importantly, it's cheap enough to be disposable!

I've had this guitar for a good two years now-- And I can proudly say that it was good from the start! It has a great sound for a small guitar, and you are getting so much more than what you paid for! The only trouble I had was that the input jack (also the guitar strap peg), is a bit wobbly and it fell out once, but that was easily repaired.

Comments about X Series LXME Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

in the little guitar niche, only this and taylors stand out. this ones got more of a low end sound wise and hopefully has no bridge and neck issues like taylors have. great for small hands or pain issues.with a quality gigbag and a simple pickup and built in tuner thrown into the mix, its hard to beat this one!!!
how do u rate an acoustic?? it comes with a quality gigbag, no frills pickup and built in tuner
martin quality, only time will tell how it holds up
kind of expensive, but sounds good and if it holds up, is worth it.
