The first time a split personality is a good thing.
The Michael Kelly Hybrid Electric Guitar is what you've been wanting, if you've ever wished for screaming electric and sweet acoustic tones in one single guitar. The Hybrid is the perfect stage and studio instrument. It instantly switches from full acoustic guitar tone to ripping electric! Want more? The Hybrid can also BLEND both tones together for almost infinite tonal combinations — creating endless variations of a two-axe wall of sound attack!
Dual Amp Capability
If you are performing live with a Michael Kelly Hybrid or using one in the studio you will love its dual amp capabilities! When using the included Y cable, the Hybrid sends out a signal from the acoustic pickup to one amp and the electric signal to another. Since nothing can reproduce an acoustic signal like a full range acoustic amp, this will really enhance your performance! You can also run directly into two channels on a mixing board for live or studio applications that will allow you to tailor the sound and maximize each tone. Don't have two amps or a mixing board? Don't worry. When you use a standard guitar cable on the Hybrid, you get a single signal that you can plug into any amp. With the amazing Hybrid, Michael Kelly Guitars gives you a vast array of tonal possibilities in a very simple-to-use format.

For the money, this thing is amazingly good. For my taste, the acoustic sound is better than Fender Power Teles or Strats. There's only one humbucker, and that might bother some people, but I've been able to get some very good tone spread by creative tone control juggling on my amps. As a hybrid acoustic/electric, it couldn't be easier to use: volume knobs for acoustic and electric and a selector switch. Using separate amps for the two sounds is the way to go; being able to blend the two gives you maximum versatility. There were a couple of small set-up issues (a few rough frets and improperly cut nut slots), but I took care of those in about half an hour. I've had to do more than that for guitars that cost a lot more than this one! Overall, I'm quite impressed with the quality and value Mr. Kelly has put into the Hybrid.
I had been looking for a piezo equipped electric guitar for some time. Leaning towards a shecter (great guitars) I stumbled across my hybrid in my local guitar center. I picked it up and played it through a fishman amp and Mesa which is my current rig. I immediately set it down and pulled out my wallet. Try this thing out, you will be impressed!
