Comments about Mitchell Element Series ME1ACE Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I really like the open-pore satin finish and flame maple binding; very classy looking! So much about this Mitchell to praise; Fishman electronics, well set-up neck which didn't require any more than a minor truss rod tweak, simple understated aesthetics, and ebony fretboard(!). I bought this on a "Stupid Deal" 3 months ago as a "camper guitar" thinking that at that low price, I wouldn't care if it got a little beat up. Then I really started playing the thing and she started to break in and find her voice. Nicely balanced mids and highs with a good bottom end. Plugged in I was surprised to find the same balance coming from my old '62 Fender Champ and my Acoustasonic 30. Typically, when a guitar comes down here to SE New Mexico the intense dryness and summer heat wreak havoc with tuning and action, but so far, little Miss Mitchell is holding fast, and that is definitely saying something!
Having said all that's good with this instrument, here is the not-so-good: The knobs on the tuners are black plastic with cheesy fake wood grain, the description says ebony, don't believe it. The Fishman tuner looks really cool, is easy to see and access, but is incredibly slow to show changes at the tuners. Now, as an experienced player, most of the time I can hear when it is in tune as I'm adjusting, but sometimes my ears are not able to hear as well (background noise, etc.).
There it is, I like this little guit, I will keep her, wrap her in a gig bag, put her in the house and relegate another to the camper!

Comments about Mitchell Element Series ME1ACE Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Pros: Good tone and volume, good craftsmanship, comfortable neck, and nice satin finish. Good action out of the box. Very tight and accurate built-in tuner.

Cons: Rusty strings, cheap quality tuners, although nice looking. Battery not easily accessable from the top or the soundhole. I. Can't even see the battery from the soundhole, that means I have to remove the entire electronic setup from the top just to change the battery, shame on them.

Great buy on SDOTD at half price.

Comments about Mitchell Element Series ME1ACE Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was amazed at how beautiful this guitar looks and sounds. It is light weight wise but that is compared to my nylon stringed one.
I had to do notging to it but install a strap button by the neck.

  • Great sound
  • light but durable

Cons

  • a few high frets

Comments about Mitchell Element Series ME1ACE Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a beautiful guitar that is a lot of fun to play. The action was a little high, but that was really easy to adjust to my own preference. There were a few high frets that did prevent me from lowering the action as low as I initially wanted, but it is still a great guitar. Well worth the price I paid for it on the Stupid Deal of the Day.
