This guitar isn't plain in anyway. It offers three rings around the soundhole. One looks to be the abalone shell. It really gives it a rich look. There are also some checkering details across the back and bottom of the body. The face of the headstock is glossy black which looks classy with the silver tuner knobs. The details and the quality are all there. The full rich sound is something you would find on a much more expensive guitar. I say don't hesitate and buy it now before the price goes up.
I looked around for awhile for a good value between cost and performance and decided on the Mitchell acoustic-electric. I am only a beginner but have spent a lot of time playing this guitar and have improved substantially in a short period of time. The neck is just the right size for my hands and the strings are easy to push down on the frets. The tone is rich and full like that of a much more expensive guitar. The added benefit of playing through an amplifier makes it great for parties and family gatherings. Everybody thinks it sounds awesome. The workmanship is topnotch too. It really is a nice looking and playing guitar. I would recommend it to anyone.
well built, good design

Played this guitar several hours, the constant buzz of the pick-up is a hinderance, not to mention the overall lacking quality of work put in them is very "poor". Using 12, 54 strings and the neck began warping soon after. It's apparent the neck suffers in strength to carry a heavier string. No care what so ever went into producing these. This is a cheesy guitar. Reccomend you spend a few extra dolloars for a more quality playing experience and lack of problems.

This is a $200 guitar, or at least what I expect from a $200 guitar. I do not expect perfection, but I expect a very good guitar. This is a very good $200 guitar. The craftmanship is not perfect. The sound is sweet and rich. I replaced the strings immediately and that was a good choice. Mitchell is on the right track with these guitars. A little more detail to craftmanship and these will beat any $500 to $600 guitar. They already beat (or match) anything in the $300 to $400 dollar range in tone and rich sound.

I purchased this guitar 2 1/2 years ago in a music shop promo. It is unbelievable. I play and sing in a Christian Contemporary group at our church and it is easy to play, great low action and driving sound that makes it perfect for lead rythm role that I have.

I happened to come across this guitar while browsing. I picked it up and it immiediately felt light and sturdy. I'll be honest, I didn't play it before I actually examined the workmanship. The quailty of detail is excellent. Eeverything about the look and feel of this beauty is awesome. After, checking it out, I gave it a few strums and found it smooth and easy to play. The overall sound is just enough bass and a little light on the high notes. I then plugged it in and played thru the amp and really got hooked on the awesome tones from the onboard amp.My only gripe about this steal is that I have noticed a little buzzing down the neck as I tried to hit high notes on all strings. It may need a brief tune up from a pro and maybe some lighter strings. If your in the market for a new guitar and you don't want to spend alot, then this is am awesome deal!!!!!!!GET IT! TRUST ME!

I was looking for an entry to mid level guitar for practicing. Something I can use everyday and wont worry to much if I ding or scratch it. I was trying some Yamaha, Ibanez, Takamine & Fender in a local guitar store when I heard somebody pick this Mitchell up and played it. I cant believe what I was hearing. It sounded better than the the four ones Ive tried. I immediately picked it up after the other fellow returned it on its stand. I looked at the brand and it says Mitchell. Ive never heard of this brand before. I played it and it was real music to my ears. The action is perfect and the sound is as rich as my Taylor 314ce. I closed my eyes and its like Im playing my Taylor guitar. After a few songs, I immediately bought one and the store gave me a new one in a box. After I got home and opened the box, the unit i got buzzed on the lower strings and sounded pale. I was told that the strings were a bit old (stocked) and the unit/wood needs more breathing to achieve the rich sound. As I cant have the patience to wait for the guitar to "ripen" and replace the strings, I went back to the store and got the demo unit instead. I could never be so happy after that. I also owned an Ovation, and an Ibanez,(aside from my Taylor) and they have gotten less action after I got this Mitchell guitar.

This guitar is a beauty for its price range....great action for leads, fingerpicking feels fluid...the tone cuts through really well, the only issue I have is when its not plugged in and you want to strum hard it rattles a bit but can be controlled by backing off a little...plugged in it doesn't pose a problem...overall a great deal for the price.

this is personally my first acoustic guitar, and i love the tone.recently, my electric input broke but i love the guitar so much i don't want to return it.i don't know if its because its my guitar, or because its really good, but i love the tone and feel more then any guitar i have ever played.to sum it up this guitar rocks!
