Comments about Mitchell MD200S Solid-Top Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar came from MusiciansFriend packaged VERY well (triple boxed!) and arrived in good condition.

I was very impressed with how nice it looked and sounded. I played guitar as a child, but never committed myself to practicing like I should - but the music I had to practice didn't interest me. Now, as a mature adult, I can chose the music I want to play (Gospel and Hymns), and I find it much more interesting.

I've read some reviews here had complained that the strings supplied with it were not good, but I had some nice D'Addario's EXP Extended Play Strings that sounded very good (at least to my untrained, novice ears) very good.

The action was not as high as I thought it might be according to some reviews, but maybe there is some variability in how well this instrument is set up.

It seems to hold it's tune pretty well, and the tuners seem tight enough to hold a tune, but not so tight as to be excessively hard to turn.

I got the "Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case" (Product #540945) with this, and it fits like a glove, and looks like it will protect this guitar no matter where I take it. It has very luxurious velour on the inside that looks like it'd cushion the guitar very well!

For the price, this is a great guitar. Heck, even for more money, this would be a great guitar. It's great for a beginner, or someone wanting a guitar that you wouldn't worry yourself to death to take out of the house for fear it'd get damaged or stolen (like you would with a $2,000 guitar).

The only reason I didn't give it FIVE stars was because I've only owned it for less than 24 hours, so I hate to give it too high of a rating only to find problems later down the road, so take this rating as a tentative five star - but a solid four stars.

I have no doubt that Musiciansfriend would stand behind this guitar if you got a dud, so if you do buy this, play the heck out of it to make sure it's what you want so you can send it back if it doesn't satisfy you.

    Pleased

Comments about Mitchell MD200S Solid-Top Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I picked this up in a pawn shop. It must be the recession or someone bought this guitar thinking they wanted to learn to play, to discover they had no talent. I will never sell this guitar. The guy behind the counter handed it over and when I tuned it up started playing, my mind was made up. I reached for my wallet without ever taking my hands of of it. I paid less than what is being asked for it here. But I wouldn't feel ripped off if I had paid MSRP. The gold plated Grovers on mine are starting to fade. But I don't care. They're smooth. The finish is thick and durable, I have found. Still the sound is warm and full, as good or better than my Yamaha, or Takamine. I play with finger picks and the sound is incredible for the price. For the price, this is a great guitar for a talented beginner and the quality should please anyone who gets one of these.I play live and record using this guitar.

Comments about Mitchell MD200S Solid-Top Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

My parents went to a guitar shop to get my sister a guitar for christmas. I was expecting them to get her a cheap learner's guitar. They picked this one up. So they asked me to play it and see if it was worth getting, and the sound that came out of this guitar was deeper and more rich than my Alvarez Af90sck, and I love playing and writing music more than anyone in my family. So it's gonna be hard seeing my sister with a better sounding guitar.Amazing guitar.
