Nice heal, neck is very comfortable, pick-up switching is unique - designed to be changed on the fly - use your hands to change sounds instead of always tap dancing on pedals
Ernie Ball Music Man is meticulous regarding attention to detail regarding neck fit, fret finish, set-up (right from the factory). This machine was not put together by machines.
Versatile guitar - if you need to go from single coil spank to humbucker leads to somewhere inbetween for the chorus - this is it. You don't use pedal to try to make a strat sound like a les paul for a few bars. Suprisingly nice jazz tone - the neck pick-up is warm, but not 'thumpy' - mixes well with the other pick-ups - which is rather rare I think.

My only complaint is one that was previously mentioned. There are no cutaways on the back, leaving this guitar feeling like a thin acoustic, with a boxy feel. If I ever find a good wood shop with a pro paint man, I most likely would pay to have the back carved like a strat.
It really is hard to find where this guitar belongs on the body. With a wrist injury, I'm pretty much forced to choke it up high.
When I play this guitar, I really do at times hear Steve. After 2 years of owning this, I still get turned around trying to remember what all the switching does, and have to refer to the diagram.
The neck is excellent, and it's a breeze to play.
Well built, no question about it. This guitar has taken a couple of jumps out of its stand, right on its face, with no damage.
Worth every penny. It gives almost every guitar sound there is.

Comments about Music Man Steve Morse Signature Model Electric Guitar:

This is my second music man ,my first is a JP 6 .
The Quality of these guitars is amazing and I beleave one of the best values on the market . I also have a PRS custom 24 and , SG ,and American Deluxe Strat . I can't decide which I like the best . I seem to be playing the musicman the most and I love that they are made in the USA . Makes me proud of our american artisans. AND THEY ARE ART my one problem not a complaint ,is that I can't find a store that caries RPS singel strings

one of the more versatile guitars!

Comments about Music Man Steve Morse Signature Model Electric Guitar:

If you want to take just one guitar to you gig, take this one and you'll play everything without changing guitars
it's not easy to learn the configurations in this guitars, but once you get the hang of it, you can play any genre you want, from Hendrix to Metallica. you have both of the best worlds, a strat and a les paul in a single guitar... but you have to learn it
I was amazed at the quality, Music Man makes the best guitars around with the best qualities. once i bought this guitar, two months later i bought an albert lee, and now i'm becoming in a Music Man fan, probably buy a JP6
this is probable one of the less expensive music man guitars, and i don't know why with so many features... definitely a steal!! i'll probably will change the pickguard to white pearl. but i'll leave the rest as it is

Comments about Music Man Steve Morse Signature Model Electric Guitar:

I played the Music Man guitars for the first time at NAMM this year and you know you have hit on something special when out of all the guitar manufacturers at NAMM (probably over 100) & all of the respective guitars in their line-ups (well over 1000) the Music Man guitars really made the biggest impression on me. Just to clarify, before going to NAMM this year, I wouldn't have even given Music Man guitars a second thought. Now I WILL own one.
Probably the best thing about this guitar is that it's features are so thoughtfully put together that it creates a very versatile instrument. Obviously the very flexible pickup array is at the core of the feature set. I found that in all positions, the guitar sounded as you would wish it to sound with very little compromise.
I played this guitar for about 30 minutes at the NAMM show this year, but I just could not put it down. It felt really good. I couldn't stop thinking about how much I liked the neck and when I got home looked online and saw how they use an oil and wax finish on their necks. All I can say is I really liked the feel of the neck. From what I could tell, the guitar was a quality instrument (but we were at namm - so for sure they have their best out)
Considering you get 2 absolutely signature sounds (strat and les) nailed - then add on top of that all the other p-up combos, this guitar is actually a pretty good value. To my mind, no other manufacturer has put this p-up combo together in a package that works this well.

    Pretty darn nice!

Comments about Music Man Steve Morse Signature Model Electric Guitar:

I am totally blown away by the neck on this guitar. The neck is super fast and comfortable. The range of tones is extreme, and you really can hear Steve when you play it.The only draw back on this guitar is it is not very friendly on the right forearm. It has a boxy feel to it.I wish they had taken the time to carve out the backside such as is done with a Strat. I am having a difficult time finding where this guitar belongs on my body. But, this is one nice, solid, well built guitar.

    Steve Morse Signature Guitar

    By ScadThing

    from Savannah, GA

Comments about Music Man Steve Morse Signature Model Electric Guitar:

This is without doubt the best guitar I have ever played. It has a comfortable, very fast neck and the combination of tones is incredible due to the 12 switch combinations for the four pickups, controlled by one three-way awitch and two toggle switches. I initially expected the switch combinations would be difficult to learn, but due to the logic of the design, I learned to use it in only a few days. The only negative was that I selected the model with the Floyd Rose tremolo. When I bend strings at the higher frets I get noise from the other strings. I plan to buy the hard tail version of this guitar, but will keep the Floyd Rose version.
