I give this pedal an 8 with features because it only has a rate adjustment but I like simple effects and this by no means dimenishes the pedals overall value. If you like to have dozens of setting options this pedal isn't for you.
Built like a tank and sounds great (clean) ... and true bypass switching!
Absolutely great value. Thier has been times over the years that I have questioned purchases of amps and effects, thinking "was this worth it?" This is not one of those times. If this pedal had other brands stamped on it could sell for quite a bit more. Great job MXR-Dunlop
If you are looking for a great sounding, quality built, true bypass, chorus pedal with a no frills operation this is it.
Very Impressed

Not much here. Built like a tank, Led is great. Works on battery or power supply. Power supply was a welcome update. True bypass.
Giving it a seven as anything lower would make it seem like something was wrong, and it isn't. Not a lot of bells and whistles here and I'm fine with that.
Durable, built tough, no worries.
The switch is the smoothest one I've ever encountered and is even smoother than some those on my boutique pedals.
10! I've been looking for a replacement for my old Boss Ce-2 and this is it. It took a while to find a suitable replacement, but was worth the wait.
The Micro Chorus sounds amazing! Not amazing for a mass produced pedal, it sounds amazing for all pedals.
Was concerned with only having a rate knob, but my worries are put to rest.
Does a nice subtle chorusing effect at low settings, wonderful eighties and rush-like chorus around the half way point.
And unlike the claims of many others, the leslie like throb of this pedal around 75% is the best I've heard from a chorus pedal.
There's a lot you can get from one knob, but it's always lush and smooth and I'm happy it doesn't add an overbearing increase in the higher frequencies.
This pedal is a must hear, or see for anyone looking for a vintage chorus. I think I even like it better than the Ce-2.
The unit does boost the signal, but so did my old boss, if that's an issue, here's your heads up. This unit is much quieter than the others I tried.
I compared this to the Ce-2, Ibanez analog chorus, the newer boss units and several boutique offerings. The MXR, regardless of price tag won out as being very easy to dial in many sounds, all of them very useable and equal if not better to the other units.
This unit sounds fantastic on its own or behind or in front of a dirt box. Simple unit, that's easy to use and capable of an array of chorus sounds with a simple knob.
This will serve as my go to chorus for years to come and I'm a guy that uses chorus often. Thrilled with this one.
Great Analog Chorus

Simple!! Power up, plug in input, plug in output, kick the switch, dial in the rate. BLAM!! Analog chorus, rich and syrupy!
True bypass switch, (why don't ALL the others have this!!??!!) sturdy metal case AND fits great on a pedalboard. Did I mention quality analog chorusing?
Oh yeah! It may not have all them knobs ya gotta tweak and turn and such, but I'd rather play than spend my practice/playing time turning knobs. This one has one knob, set it and forget it.
My original Ibanez chorus (the purple one) FINALLY died. I used it when I bought it in the spring of 1983 until recently. I tried a cheaper, plastic pedal. It was OK but a bit transistor-y. No warmth. I own an MXR smart gate, so the micro-chorus seemed like the best bet. Plus, I read the reviews and I figured I could use it. Simple set up! I had my old reliable sound within 5 minutes! Sorry, but I don't go for digital chorus, distortion or digital bells. THIS is pure analog chorus and it's simple to set and go. Can't wait to use it on a gig!!
Amazing sound from a small pedal

One knob
Built like a tank
I give it a 9 based on the amazing tone and the simplicity
I just received this pedal and I'm using it through the effects loop of my Marshall DSL. This is the best sounding chorus I've ever used. At its minimum setting, it adds a little chorus to fatten up cleans or distortion (think Zakk Wylde etc). At the half way point, (give or take) its really lush and is great for cleans. Better than any digital chorus I've used. At around 3/4 of the way up, it starts to sound a lot like the beginning of Come As You Are. I was concerned that because it only had one knob, I wouldn't have enough control over the sound, but somehow the guys at MXR have figured out how to make it work. I actually like the fact that I can get every sound I want from one control now. The only drawback with this pedal is that it's a little noisy when engaged. I'm not sure why but it's not a deal killer. I give an 8 overall only because its a little noisy but again, still highly recommended.
Great Chorus

Not a lot to it which is a good thing. I was a little worried that there is not a depth control but after using the pedal it doesn't seem like I need one.
I own many MXR pedals and they are always build solid and reliable. I've never had an issue with any of them.
For the sounds I'm getting from this pedal I'd say the value is great.
The micro chorus is pretty much exactly what I was looking for in a chorus sound. I try to use effects sparingly and not many of them but I am very particular about the sort of sound I want when I do use them. In the past I've used a small clone, digitech multichorus and various TC Electronic chorus effects...none of which sounded as good as this pedal.
At first I was concerned that there is not a depth control on it but the sound of this pedal is huge so I actually don't feel like I need it. It might actually be a little too enveloping for some people. The speed range is very usable to me anywhere from 8 to 1 o'clock on the rate knob. I tend to stick with slower chorus for more of a doubling effect.
Another reason I like the pedal is that it is analog and true bypass. A reason I don't like the small clone is that it seemed to not have a lot of head room when using it through an effect loop, especially with distortion. Don't have that problem with the micro chorus.Doesn't squish the signal at all.
Overall if you're looking for something simple this is the best chorus I've ever used.
