Tone is amazing. Normally guitars need to open up, but this one already sounds good. A little time will only make it better. New strings still have a bit of "jangle", but that's normal for new strings and should go away in a week or so. Neck is amazingly comfortable and string spacing is a good compromise for strumming or finger picking.
Everything you need; great preamp and pickup, includes strap button on heel and a great hardshell case. Quality strings, etc.
Craftmanship is supperb. Frets finished nicely, and this one was set up perfectly from the factory. Even the action at the nut was addressed, and that's rare. Includes ebony bridge pins; a nice touch.
Got it on sale, so would be a 10 for that price, but the normal price is still a bit high. Treads up into the lower end Martins, so for that price... But even so, solid back and top, quality components and a nice case.
While it doesn't have the same presence as my 1938 000 martin, it does(especially for the cost)have some serious charm. I went looking for a concert body cutaway but from the moment I picked this guitar up I knew I had to have it. It's surprisingly loud and resonant, and the tone is very clear and bright. The neck is thin and fast. just feels good in my hands. having a custom moon spruce/rosewood made after visiting the shop in Bend yesterday. I am very impressed.
I got this while it's on sale, so it was an absolute bargain. But if somehow it disappeared from my life and the price shoots back up to the normal price, I wouldn't hesitate to get it again. The bass doesn't drown out the treble after 2 seconds like the guitar I owned prior to getting this one; the entire tonal range is well represented at least to my ears. The wood is beautiful. The action is perfect. The neck is so comfortable to hold. The retro styling is gorgeous. Never really loved a guitar before, but now I do. I've played guitar a lot more just because the sound is so beautiful I can't get enough of it.
Jayesslee uses this when touring around the world, which is where I found out about this guitar in the first place. If it's good enough for that, it's good enough for most of us.
I went into a local music store looking for a new acousitc that featured a cut-away. I picked this bad boy up and started playing it and realized "hey, I like this". It took me 3 different occasions coming back and playing it, but eventually i fell in love with it. Still missing the cut-away, but compromises must be made!
I'm very pleased with this guitar. It has become my main instrument out of 8 guitars I own. It sounded a little tight right out of the case, but it is already sounding better. It was so new it was still in the plastic bag inside the case. The Tusq nut and saddle should be standard on all guitars that don't use natural bone. They help it sound good. This guitar has a sound and look and feel of a good pre-war instrument. The only real breakaway from that is the neck which feels quite modern in that it is thin and fast. This makes for a good combination. This guitar has loads of volume, doesn't compress under heavy strumming and still has nice tone for fingerstyle. I wanted a good all around instrument to handle a variety of styles and still fit a small budget. I got what I wanted in spades with this guitar. I would replace it immediately if I ever lost it.
Nice features on this guitar. Basic electronics from L.R. Baggs, but they sound really good through an amp. Tuner is accurate. The notch filter works easily. I also like the looks of the diamond fret markers. The Grover tuners add more of the pre-war vibe to the guitar and they work great. They have an 18:1 ratio, making it easy to fine tune.
This guitar is built really well. There were a couple little loose glue pieces in the body that needed blowing out, but that is minor. The fit and finish are very good. This guitar shows how high the quality has come up in some Asian instrument lately. This is built by a family in Korea, and they did a good job. There are no blemishes in the wood, some silking in the spruce and decent EI rosewood back and sides. The rosewood doesn't have a stunning figure, but it looks pretty nice.
This guitar is an amazing value. At this price you won't find anything even close in value. It has the sound of a much more expensive guitar, a good vintage sound to it. It plays great. I did lower the action a little by sanding about 1mm off the bottom the saddle, and it plays like a dream now. The neck feels good, almost like an electric. This guitar sounds better each time I play it. Also, the case is high quality. It is a deluxe case and looks like it could cost a good bit on its own.
I'm still getting used to the 1 11/16" nut width. I've been playing 1 3/4" so it will take some time. This guitar looks and sounds great! This is my first Breedlove, but I really do love it.
Beautiful guitar with nice pickup and on board tuner. So far I love it.
This guitar is very well built. The case is nice too.
Bought it on sale. Can't beat the price. Plays and sounds like a guitar two or three times that cost.
