Don't Forget

A focused tone machine with throwback style.

Firebird Studio 2017 T is light, nimble and fast. This hard-working rendition of Gibson's original Firebird focuses on what matters most to the working guitarist: tone and playability. The 496R and 496T humbuckers are absolute powerhouses, ready to rock the house with grind and aggression that go beyond traditional humbuckers. Exquisitely polished frets allow for smoother bends and a better feel, while vintage looks will be sure to make you stand out both in studio and on stage. The guitar comes delivered in a padded gigbag, with a strap and polishing cloth.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Firebird Studio T Electric Guitar:

The firebird is different so if you are new to one it takes some getting use to. But I've had some in the past and I like them. I love the look on this one with the sunburst and black trim. I wish they would have trimmed the outside of the headstock on the front with the beautiful amber mahogany from the back. The neck has a great solid feel to it and the full size humbuckers perform well to my type of music. I also like the one piece body with no steps in it.Gibson should sell this with a hard shell case not a gig bag! It's too nice!

I would probably buy it again..there are caveats

Comments about Gibson 2017 Firebird Studio T Electric Guitar:

Waited all day for it's arrival. Enter UPS late in the day. It's dark and the weather is cold. I bring the box inside and let it sit a few hours to acclimate to room temperature. Planning to leave it in the gig bag to further acclimate; I cut the security tape and remove it from the box. It looks bowed. NOT good I think. Immediately I take it from the gig bag. VERY nice gig bag. Black exterior with GIBSON in white letters, plush white interior. Like pulling it from a BMW. The guitar was perfectly safe. Inside the pocket of the gig bag I was happy to find a strap Made in China. NOT really a plus, but it's a strap. Also a packet with a wrench that looks like a small one hit pipe, I don't know what it's for yet. Also in the pocket is an Allen wrench; useful Owners Manual; and a low quality picture of the guitar on someones desk, not exactly a work bench for guitars, but someones desk with pens, markers scattered on it; a PC; speakers; junk in general; etc. It looks like smut to me. If Gibson put it there, for the cost of a pre-paid return envelope I will gladly return it to whoever put it in there. I absolutely hate it. It makes the guitar look cheap, or like it's used. Bad idea to include it. Not impressive, negative class there. really cheapens it. Also, whoever strung the guitar did not string it the way Gibson explains how it should be done in the Owner's Manual.

Next I can't blame anyone for the intonation to be off due to the changing temperatures etc. It's not as bad and far off as the guitar that inspired me to go Gibson, so there I'm a little disappointed that it wasn't 'remove from gig bag, tune and play to a perfect note at each fret. I expected too much there, but it's alright. I know I can fix it myself because It tells you how to in the Owners Manual that comes with it, so you don't REALLY have to Google anything or watch You Tube videos, you can cut right to the chase and get the tone right. The price was right here at MU's Friend too.
