OVERVIEW

(Open Box) A solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a thin profile neck.

Recording King's EZ Tone series uses one of the thinnest poly finishes ever combined with finely-tuned action for guitars that resonate freely to deliver classic acoustic tone that's not choked by a thick finish and easy playability to reduce finger fatigue.

EZ Tone PLUS guitars are built with a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. They share the same comfortable neck and resonant finish as the rest of the EZ Tone series.

The EZ Tone Plus guitars deliver all-solid tone, easy playability and excellent projection in guitars you won't want to put down. Case sold separately.

A better-than-nice acoustic.

Comments about Recording King RP-A9 EZ Tone Plus Single O Acoustic Guitar:

An all solid wood box on sale for super cheap? With really good materials and good fit and finish? Pinch me, I'm dreaming! Hah! Acoustics are something that demand up-close-and-personal examination, that are NEVER bought without handling and playing, but with it's stupid low price tag, I did the unthinkable impulsive thing and ordered it out. Not at all disappointed. This is a Spartan acoustic with zero frills and adornments, which is just fine by me as its simplicity only adds to its visual "charm". Aesthetics aside, it has good craftsmanship, the all important neck set angle is correct, playabilty is easy and the fretwork is quite good. Wanting a super low acoustic action for fingerstyle gymnastics, a set of D'Addario 11-52 phosphor-bronze strings were put on, the truss rod was tweaked a bit, and the bone saddle was lowered about .040". Ah, mo' bettah. The tone is quite sweet for this little single 0, not nasal or twangy as found on most little boxes, but with rich mid range overtones that will only get better the longer it's played. As with all mail order acoustics, who knows, this one might just have been one of the "good ones" as ordering online will always be a krap shoot of sorts. :)

Comments about Recording King RP-A9 EZ Tone Plus Single O Acoustic Guitar:

I would best describe the sound as punchy. This thing produces more volume and punch than my Recording King dreadnought (dirty thirties which I love). Bass is great, volume very loud, treble is not as good but that's expected. I've played a few other smaller guitars, both solid and laminate woods, and this one is hands down one of the better smaller bodied guitars I've played. Love the binding and the construction overall. I ordered the RP-A3M before this one and there's a big difference. The A3M is not as loud and sounds boxier, but isn't a bad guitar, I just was expecting more so I returned it and got the A9M. Finish is thin but beautiful and very natural looking. Tuners work fine although I prefer vintage style ones and might change them out eventually. Overall a nice guitar for the money!
