All i did was change strings because i use 11's and this guitar did not disapoint me. Sleek look, great tone, easy playability and at a affordable price. I love my new deluxe hot rails so much that i bought a new hardshell case to carry it in. It holds it's own with with usa models for sure.
Buy it, buy it ....you will not be sorry
Mine had one screw missing from the pickguard but probably just a small oversite. Lots of bang for your buck with this guitar.
I could not have ask for a better guitar for the cost of this gem

With the switch all the way down my squire std. WIth a reg. humbucker sounds better, the hot rails lack bass. And when I boost bass & cut treble it still don' t sound as good as a reg. Humbucker. Then its too bassy in the other switch positions, which kills the versatility. They sanded 2 dips in the neck which had std. on it instead of deluxe, & the nut was glued a little off center .But it didn't effect how it played so I kept it.But everything else was top notch. I really like the 2 pt. trem, you can raise the whole bridge with 2 screws instead of 16.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

Here we go...This is without a doubt a great Strat.I have to tip my hat to Fender/Squire for a great guitar.I bought a white one used from this site, and have been very tone happy! It now has been my go to guitar. If it anit on the stand its in my hands. Only issue I had is that the bridge pickup was installed in the middle, so I reversed the pickups and now its great. This guitar can cover so many styles. Squire has made a fan out of me...I own many of the recent Squireswith the Semour Duncan Design pickups.Fender/Squire/Semour Duncan=Tone Machine For Little Cash!!...Get Yours Now!!!

A real excellent guitar

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

Well, I am familiar with the Squire Strats from the mid 80's being built excellent from Japan. Surprisingly, these Indonesian built Squire Deluxe strats have a neck that feels like the 60's strats. Why doesn't the MIM strats feel this good? Over all a guitar that is built with a basswood body has an excellent tone for all around rock n roll. I prefer the basswood over alder for the rock style tone. The build quality is excellent and not cheap like the lower line squire strats. The deluxe series is a new better quality and I hope Fender keeps this up. I love the tone of this guitar. I think the quality is sometimes hit or miss in the setup. I got mine thru MF and it was sent with the setup perfect. Feels like a really good strat and the sounds are great. An overall excellent deal on the price. When more people find how good this guitar is I'm sure the price will get much higher. I really like my Squire Deluxe and will be buying another one soon to have a really good backup but will probably put a humbucker in the bridge on that one. I have 30 years of playing experience behind me so I know strats.

great deal for a metal guitar

By guitarjunky97

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

This guitar was a surprise to me and I'm not usually speechless by a cheap guitar but this one is amazing for the money. I was not that happy with the paint job cause mine had what looks to be little specks of dust in the paint, like the factory workers didn't paint it in a dust free room. The tuners work nicely and the bridge seems to be well built. The neck is a little bulky but works substantially well and the frets are not sharp around the edges which is quite nice. Where this guitar really shines are these monster pickups in the pickguard that can blow down a house. The bass in these pickups and the sustain creates a heavy metal that everyone should have. I am not a huge fan of basswood guitars but this guitar has some weight to it so dont think its going to feel like driftwood in your hands it still weighs about the same as my MIM strat. Compared to my MIM strat it could come close in comparison but the paint job is why I give this guitar a few less marks for excellence besides that your getting a pretty good deal anyway and if you wanted to shell out the cash go ahead and paint it another color yourself.

Hot Rails Squire.............My Main Squeeze

By david newberry

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

What a great sounding guitar! I only wish the pickup were tapped for single coil too. Neck is a little fat, but access above the 12th fret is great for lead. One hot puppy. I'm semi-pro and this has replaced a $2000 Les Paul as my go to axe.
Remember this is a entry level and priced as such. If you consider that it's a 10. But matched with american strats/gibson etc. it's a solid 8
this sound great and 3 hot little humbuckers give a tremendous variation an sounds.

Great Tone at Accesible Price

By Ash-2dw6i

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

I felt like buying a new guitar at an accesible price (My last shop was a Squier show Master HH with Skull & Crossbones) and found this one out on the squier website. I felt curious and checked out reviews and specs about this guitar and I felt good about it.when I got my hands on it oh MY GOD. Nice tone, warm sound, beautiful bright tones and respectable bass. Te exact guitar I dreamed of. If you want a strat that allows you going through clean tones to burning heavy sounds without leaving you with an empty wallet this si your choice!!!.

Hot Rails - hot value

By SHNOOL

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

I was a little skeptical about my purchase of this. There were few reviews (but they were overall good), and wasn't sure this would fit my style of playing (such as that is)... Anyway, I have owned a Penco (read early Ibanez) Les Paul knock off, that I retooled (EMG and LP 59), as well as an early Danelectro (retooled to a tele 61 and lipstick), and finally a Squier II (early Korean Strat knock-off). This thing has the humbucking tone I was looking for, on the strat body. The build quality is QUITE good. Neck is satin, not silk, but very playable. The fretwork is top-notch considering the price. So far no problems with pots. Trem is just blah, but then I never use mine anyway. This guitar will not have the ringing brite tones of a typical strat, nor will it be ALL sustain and output like a LP. It is a comfortable compromise of guitars. There is plenty of drive for metal, but with a little tuning it can create a great 70s rock sound. I am quite impressed with the guitar. OH and I got the olympic white, it is pretty, and I'd do anything to avoid "another black guitar."

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

Best guitar for the price I have ever owned. The pickups are almost worth the price of the guitar. My only con which is minor is the edges of the frets need to be smoothed out. Other than that this is an awesome Stratocaster. I bought the black one and a year later bought a white one. They can't be beat for the money. I also own a US Standard Strat. If it wasn't for the neck needing filing this guitar is as good as a US Strat or at least a Mexican. The secret to the foreign strats is to get ones made in Indonesia and then file the edges of the frets. Nothing else is needed. My opinion.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

Hot Rails Deluxe Squire Strat, Olympic White. Beautiful finish, good neck wood and average fingerboard wood. Very good fretwork at this price level. Better than average hardware at this price level. Bought it for a beginner. Sounds good and plays very well. Is gig-able with a couple of tweaks and a decent case. A very good value!

    Simply a great guitar!

    By Merdin

    from Oklahoma

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

Well I wanted to add my two cents to the rating on this guitar since I have now been playing one for close to a year. I bought this thru MF last year and when I got the guitar what surprise... First off, it was beautiful right out of the box with a stunning white paint job. The hardware is very nice and durable. I did have to adjust the bridge saddles a bit lower as I like lower action. The neck feels really nice like the older strats. The sound of the guitar is a full sweet tone when clean and gets really good rock tones when ran thru my Marshall non master 50 watt half stack. This is one of the best deals I have seen in years and the build quality is really nice, and no sharp fret ends. The fret work on mine was good right from the start. I was using a MIM strat as my main club guitar but it lost its spot and now this is my main gigging guitar. The rails pups are nice and a good twist from using single coils, no hum...They also do the rock thing very well. The bridge is very nice with 2 pivot point and stainless saddles. I tightened the bridge down as I do not use the whammy bar. All in all, an excellent deal, don't let the name fool you, this is a true fender and a great sounding and playing guitar. If anyone couldn't gig with this guitar, they should look for another line of work. I should know as I have been gigging and playing for over 30+ years and owned many expensive guitars too.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

Well, I can say that after owning many expensive Fender Strats that these guitars are a good deal. Why, Well they have a nice thin comfortable neck, taller medium jumbo frets than the mex strats have. The body is basswood and basswood is a favored tone wood of EVH and Ibanez uses basswood for the original RG550 series of the 80's.The hardware is solid and the finish is great too. The mexican strats of 2008 have gone down hill and the Indonesian made guitars have gotten much better in the build quality due to CNC machines giving more exact making of necks and bodies.I had owned an original Japan made Squire from 1985 and these are not quite as good but not to far back either. The one I own now has the best tone out of the 6 American strats I have owned over a ten year period. Plays darn easy too. Good rock tones and clean tones too. Funny but this new squire guitar actually plays better than my new San Dimas Charvel, go figure... And yes, I know how to set up guitars so I set them all up myself.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

I've never owned a low end guitar that sounds and plays as well as this. I bought with some skepticism after buying and liking the Squier Tele with humbuckers. Other than what I noted under cons this guitar is all pluses. Beginning guitarists may want to have an experienced player work it over before deciding. The pickups deliver a wide range of tones and are very loud. The only other minor negative is the frets need finishing but what do you want for this price!

Comments about Squier Deluxe Hot Rails Strat Electric Guitar:

I just purchased this guitar a couple of days ago and I have been playing everything I know on it. It is a super guitar for the $$. I have 5 American Strats and 4 American Telecasters (which are the ultimate) to compare, but this little baby can hang with them. I will use it for practice and travel. I highly recommend this guitar, especially for beginners.
