Don't let the

By IndieMcFolkerson

from Philadelphia

This is as close to the old all-laminate FG guitars as it gets from Yamaha these days. It certainly sounds like one, despite the F-series classification: a warm/bassy and cutting sound that you don't get with the FG7xx's. There is no shame in owning one of these...this gem will be with me for a long time. What I don't understand about this guitar, as opposed to the FG-series, is how they go so far to bling this model up with better tuners, a gloss finish, binding, and the mahogany back and sides (as opposed to nato or meranti), but skimp by sticking on a terrible red pickguard, basic bridge, and applying the tobacco-burst finish over top the rosette, virtually hiding it. And that burst finish isn't all that endearing for the sycamore top. The finish on the back and sides of the FG750 (also sycamore) would have made for one pretty nice looking instrument. The choices on features and finish seem quite scatter-shot. This is why the instrument gets the mediocre features score and good quality mark and ONLY why it gets them.Looks like a toy. Sounds like a ten.

so good

By Chris Hamby

from NOVA

Sounds absolutely amazing, from the first time I played it I'd fallen in love with it. I've been to many music stores in my area, and the only guitar that I played that sounded better than the f345 was an expensive Taylor. Warm tone, never falls out of tune overall amazing
It is a pretty basic guitar, but I never needed any electronics on my acoustics.

What a Deal

My wife bought this guitar used a few years ago, and what a score. It has a classic, clean look, and just GREAT sound; really inspiring and soulful. I've played on Martins, Gretches, Gibsons, etc., and this guitar ranks up there with them in sound in my opinion. I own an Ovation myself, but I only use it for shows - I play the Yamaha the rest of the time. Awesome guitar, amazing price.

Superb

The moment I played the 1st chord on this guitar it blew me away. First of all look wise, this guitar is just beautiful. Sound wise, it has a very warm tone. For this price there is no guitar that can compare to it. I'd even choose this yamaha over a $500 guitar, it's just that good.

fg345

By william-PJl5U

I bought a fg345 18yrs ago and I don't have to tell you how great the sound coming from this amazing guitar is. I have had fenders, gibsons, evenmontaya's and none of them can hold a tune to the yamaha I have. No other flaptop on the market as far as I am concerned...

best guitar in the price range

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

The yamaha f345 is probbably your best bet for a nice, warm sounding guitar. If you put a blindfold on, and heard someone play you wouldnt tell the difference between it and a lower priced martin! it is a comfortable fit for any size person. Even though it isnt a solid top :(

I've had this guitar for a long time, and it still sounds and plays great. The neck is smooth and fast. And for the price, you can't go wrong, so buy it!!!!!
