I have played a "T" and am going to buy one. The top paint job is very cool. I must play it with a strap even sitting down, but the sturdy neck and it's shape make it easy to play. Ovation has built into this gutiar quality and for the price, sound and durability it is a great value.
Simply the best Acoustic/electric money can buy!Superb for recording & live gigging!! I've been playing guitar for 20 years and I can honestly say that this guitar makes me sound better than I actually am!! I am pleasntly blown away by this Ovation!!PLUG IT IN!!!
I own an Adamas, a pair of 6778 standatd lx, a 1778t elite, and a bunch of Ibanez electric guitars. This acoustic/electric has the best sound and feedback control with a stable neck that stays in tune like nothing else I have ever owned and giged with in over 20 years of stage time. I like it twice as much as the Adamas. It is way less costly and you can sweat on the finish without worrying about smudges on stage. Yes its icky to think about but a reality of playing live. Summer outside festivals to inside bars, this is my favorite A/E guitar. Get One. Try for the op-pro if you can find it. You will feel the same way.
I played every acoustic in my music store and couldn't decide on one until I picked up this! It's the most unique acoustic I've ever seen (exactly what I wanted) and it sounds better than guitars twice the price!!!
I saved up and bought this guitar and it was worth twice the price! I tried out a new ovation at the local music store and was impressed. So when I saw this guitar I flipped on looks alone. I got the Black version 'cause I think the flames look cheesy. But the sound is what really sold me. The sound blew away my Gibson Dove and the Martin a friend of mine plays. I had tons of people commenting on the sound and the awesome look of the guitar. Super clean sound that sounds great on it's own and even better plugged in. If your considering a Taylor, Martin, or some other guitar for over a grand, do yourself a favor and get one that sounds as good or better, looks better and costs half the price--get this guitar!
I have owned this guitar for five years, and this is by far the most comfortable acoustic guitar I haev ever played or owned. The neck is very similar to a Strat--great action and intonation. The neck does not have a high gloss finish on it like many other guitars, which only adds to it's incredible playability. I rarely have tuning problems, and the plugged in sound is absolutely sweet. I've received numerous compliments from other guitar players playing guitars costing two to three times as much as mine about how great my guitar sounds live. The guitar has a very bright, punchy sound when unplugged, so it's great when you're just noodling around the house. The textured black finish doesn't show fingerprints, and can withstand the perils of sweat and drink spills when playing live. I don't believe there's another guitar that can stand up to the abuse this guitar can take in this price range. I have several other acoustic guitars, but my Ovation 1778T Elite T is my "go to" guitar. It has never let me down. If you are seriously looking for a reliable, "workhorse" instrument, do yourself a favor and try this guitar..you won't be disappointed.
After seeing kaki king [among others] play ovation guitars, I just absolutely had to try one. what was with the weird holes? I tell you what, this is an AMAZING acoustic if you're into the tapping style of playing of guitarists such as kaki/justin king, michael hedges, etc. Even without plugging in, I was dumbfounded as to how well it voiced itself out. Most people won't like the plastic feel of the bowl, but I think more guitars will eventually be made that way. Ovation should be heralded for providing such a deep sound out of such a light instrument. It's nice that it's made in the USA too. great guitar, get it in the black.
I just picked mine up and it sounds amazing. Its tone is unbeatable...Probably one of the best acoustics I've ever played.
When i purchased this guitar i was a little skeptic because i was afraid the Enamel body wont give me the option getting harmonics with a bright tone. Boy was i wrong. Even better harmonics than the wooden body guitars. This guitar ps perfect. Looks real differnt for the better and sounds great. nice neck. My stupid sister droped it before and not a scratch! Thank god! She's lickey.
I was looking for an acoustic guitar that can give a good bass sound if unplugged. I tried Taylor, Takamine, Washburn.. But when I plugged the T, it shocked me. It gave me the sound I'm looking for. It sound very acoustic. For plugged acoustic, this is what I recommend. The best sound for a good price.
