This was about my twentieth guitar or so to buy over my nearly thirty years of playing, and is the second Ovation I have owned (I still have the first one). I bought this one because I had worn the frets down on my other one to the point I get a little buzzing and I wanted to use an Ovation on our next album. This is a quality guitar! I play on a daily basis, and regularly record. I have always loved Ovation's features, not to mention they have been technologically ahead of most other manufacturers. This guitar has a great sound, although the backs of Ovations take a little to get used to, but it is well worth the effort. It has a rich tone and a prominent mid range, if you want a slightly different frequencies to be prominent, then use the EQ or an EQ. After all, companies make all this equipment for a reason. This is a great value!
I have had this guitar and sold it...it took a year. I liked the neck and the guitar was difficult to hold without a strap. I like the look but the sound was too flat lacking warmth and body. The electric sound was better but not great.
i wasnt plannning on getting this guitar for a few more months but i got it a few months ago for christmas it is definetly a gnarly guitar for intermediates. Its got built in tuner vol, bass, mid, treb, EQ mid-shift and preshapei would definetly frecommend it
