I've had my green flametop for about 4 years now, and I can say I treat it like it's the only guitar I have. It's pretty much all I play. Some people don't like the unfinished birds-eye maple neck, but that thing is awesome. DO NOT put any finish on it, it's fast the way it is. It's one of the things that sets that guitar apart. Not to mention the great sound you can get out of the guitar. I've never had it go out of tune during a session (except with new strings), and I'm always checking out of habit. The guitar also looks beautiful, however, I dropped a computer case panel on mine, and barely dinged it... I almost soiled myself. Anyway, really great guitar for rock and light rock, the only knock is the pickups are a hair overpowered for super clean. You can still get some very suitable clean tones.
This is without a doubt the best guitar I have ever played. I have owned many guitars, including a Gibson Les Paul Custom. That was my favorite, until I played the Wolfgang. It is hands down the best guitar I have ever owned. I can't put it down. I have owned it for a month and can't imagine ever playing anything else. IT has amazong tone, and the best action of any guitar I have ever played!!!
Good investment for a guitarist looking for a "higher-end" guitar. Only for rock to metal. Not so good with lighter tastes in music. In clean, it's OK. Stands out with distortion and overdrive. The style and feel is second to none.
I have this guitar, it's the best! It has the best feeling of any guitar I have ever played. I can honestly say that I will never buy any guitar other than another Wolfgang. I have played many other guitars and none can compare to the Wolfgang. It's simply the best guitar made. You can't get anything better than this!
Without a doubt the best guitar I've ever owned or played. The pickups have a kick#$* crunch when you play hard and sweet emotion when churning out power ballads.
You can spend a grand more on an LP Custom and still not match the playability or overall quality of the Wolfgang.
Rivals any guitar out there. The D-tuner is good but sometimes is not in perfect pitch... would buy another if mine was stolen!
The Wolfgang TR is truly one of the finest rock guitars ever built. The craftsmanship is second to none. The arched transparent flametop finish is a work of art. The solid birdseye maple neck is lightning fast. The custom pickups provide sharp, crisp tone with alot of punch. The Floyd Rose tremolo can do dives off the face of the earth and bounce right back to perfect tune. The only regret I have about the Wolfgang TR is I did not go buy one 5 or 6 years ago. This is one guitar you have to both see and hear to believe - it is that good!!
I have owned my Wolfgang for seven years now...My model is a prototype pre patent model...I absolutely LOVE it...I have played many axes in my time and I have found that hands down none beat the versitility and buceness of the Peavey Wolfgang...great for players of all styles...do yourself a favor and get a Wolfgang...
I have played many guitars in my days including Fender, Gibson, PRS, and many others. Never have I played a finer guitar than my Peavey Wolfgang! Nothing matches the quickness of the neck, sustain of the body and the precision of the craftsmanship. Simply amazing guitars!
Awesome guitar. Beautiful finishes. I can't say enough about it. Superb neck! Every musician should have one of these in their arsenal.
Great sound, great feel and very easy to play. It's the only guitar that I can't seem to put down.
This guitar, played with the right gear, will ******* shred!!! The only thing wrong with mine is the tremelo bar, it is noisy when released. I tried putting teflon tape on it, which worked OK. Still, they should do something about it. It's an awesome sound in the recording studio.
This is a great guitar, really. I dont share with the other users the same opinion about it, but it really sounds great. Im a gibson guy, but it fits me perfectly. The neck is soft, you know, like if you could mold it like jelly while playing; Great neck pick up too... I just dont think the d-tunner works perfectly... when recording you really sould tune in D instead of using this device. But when performing, works good
The action is so smooth, it feels like you're not even playing at first! The double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo keeps it perfectly in tune even when you hang the strings to your knees. This is the perfect guitar for any type of music you want to play.
This is a great guitar! It plays and sounds somewhere between a Fender and a Gibson, very punchy and bright. I typically prefer rosewood fretboards, but this one still can sound warm and smooth. With the locking tuner setup, the guitar stays in tune like nobody's business. I've taken it out at gigs and plugged right in, with only very fine tuning needed, which is easy with the thumb-wheel tuners. The whammy bar is nice and firm feeling, and of course, springs right back in tune. My only dislike is that it has a dry neck, which is okay if that is what you prefer. You can put a few coats of clear-coat varnish on it if you like it a little slicker, as I do. Everyone that has heard this guitar has been very impressed. If you are looking for an all-around guitar capable of sounding good in a variety of playing styles, you might want to check one out. Also, the blue finish on this is beautiful!
I played this guitar and I knew I had to have it. The neck is perfect, the pickups rock, there is nothing bad about this guitar.
absolutely amazing...i made all my demo's in every band i was in using this guitar and also played gigs with it...this guitar is absolutely awesome for solo's and when you hook the metal master pedal to it it creates an amazing sound
I have tried and continue to try alot of guitars at all price ranges (Les Paul Custom, PRS, Ibanez, Fender American Fat Strat, Jackson, EVH Music Man, Tom Anderson, etc) and I still can't find anything better than the top of the line Wolfgang, especially the Custom Shop models. The combination of tone, feel, playability, artistic beauty and workmanship is unmatched. I have played and owned more than 30 Wolfgangs. Yep - that is not misprint! I am a Wolfgang Junkie!
This guitar is addicting; The more I play it, the more I am amazed. I own, strats, Les Pauls, Ibanez & a PRS Custom 24. Everynight when I go into my music room, I go straight to the Wolfgang. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the tone is like none other. I was not sure if I was going to like the neck at first, but the more it is played the faster it gets. DO NOT put varnish on this neck!! as suggested by a previous rater. Rubb lemon oil on it, whipe it down and the neck will become like glass!! I cannot stand the feel of a finished neck now. The best buy dollar for dollar on the market, a true HOT ROD!!
