I had ordered a Squier affinity butterscotch tele, but the ship date kept getting moved back so I switched to this. For a few dollars more, this is much classier. I don't generally care for sunburst finishes, but this is really nicely done and I like it a lot. The ivory binding on the top adds a really classy touch. The finish is mirror-like and well done. Some of the wood grain has dark speckles on the back, but it doesn't bother me. The hardware seems good quality with string-through-body, which I don't think the Affinity tele had. Three ply guard was immaculate after I removed the shipping film. This is my first electric but the action seems fine to me. Lots of tone options with the fat pickup array. I find the tone very pleasing. Between the five pickup positions and the four drive modes on my Roland Cube 15 amp the sounds seem endlessly variable. Certainly enough for me as I explore the world of electicity. Seems very well made.

MY EXPERIENCE: When I first got this guitar I was really excited because it was given as a second guitar to me. The good things about this guitar are= ????. MAJOR draw backs on this guitar are (1) the frets feel like low grade aluminum and (2) when I switch it to the neck pickup it has a really crappy metallic sound to it like the sound was coming out of a hollow metal box. plus on bends my 3rd and 7th fret the string keeps untuning and I also encountered a problem with the hardware, the screws on the settings panel (volume, pickup selector, etc.)would keep getting loose, but after a while it went away. other than that, it's a decent first guitar to get your basics. On the upside, you could use a pedal for a different sound. !!!only for beginners!! You are warned.

        This is a great guitar

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

I started playing the guitar about 4 years ago and played for about a year with my sister?s guitar. For my birthday I got the peavey and have played it for three year and has never gave me any prob. except the usual to expect and that not bad because I play 6-7 hours a day so it has been faithful and overall a great guitar.

        Best Guitar For the Price

        By Jpizzle5000

        from Orem, UT

This guitar surprised me in how well it performed. I bought it when I first started and it is still good enough for what I need. It stays in tune and sounds better than any other guitar in this price range. It is way versatile too. It plays better and has nicer pickups than my friend's Sheraton. There is a little buzzing on the upper frets on the lower strings, and the sound can get pretty muddy if you load on the effects, but at this price, you won't find anything better.

This is a great guitar. It sounds and plays wonderfully, and it is very cheap for the quality. I suggest that you go and buy this guitar now. NOW!

        awesome guitar

        By bmac001

        from Long Island, NY

This guitar is absolutely amazing. Right out of the box it played quite well. A few minor things had to be fixed, such as minimal buzzing on the low e string, nothing out of the ordinary. I even played a show about 4 hours after it arrived without any problems. I ordered this on a thursday and got it the next friday, with the 4th of july in between. My guitar is sunburst, and it's beautiful. If you're looking for a great guitar at a great price, buy this guitar. You won't be disappointed.

        Great value!

        By Andk5591

I have owned maybe 15 elec guitars and 20+ basses. This includes several USA made Les Pauls, a couple USA teles and assorted others. Right out of the box this thing played quite well - for the price, you couldn't beat it. Intonation was good, except for the low E (took 2 minutes to fix). After spending about 1/2 hour fine tuning the nut, lowering the action further and resetting the intonation, this plays better than any of the Fenders I had. The satin finish on the next feels real nice and the fingerboard feels a little flatter than my last Tele, but very nice. The fret edges were dressed nicely. The pickups are nice as is and for anyone needing one all purpose guitar, this is as close as it gets without active electronics. Highly recommended!

        Killer Axe

        By Axeman-trm7x

        from Joplin , Mo

I have played professinally for over 20 years. I bought this guitar at the KC clearance center. It was a return and was the tone knob.. I gave a whopping $95 for it.I have a vintage Strat and Tele. But I find myself picking up this guitar more than either one. It is very Flexable and has killer tone. I know I got a great deal. But even at the price in the catalog. This guitar is way under priced.

        Great guitar for the price

        By Chris-VVqYm

        from Mobile, AL

This is my first electric guitar. I have been playing the acoustic for about 3 years. I have had this guitar for about a month and I am very pleased with it. The sound is great and I don't think that I could ask for more for the price. Great deal!

        Great Quality, Versatility and Value!!

        By Anonymous

        from Undisclosed

I ordered a gold Generation EXP. It arrived sort of Butterscotch colored, but I like it just fine. I have 2 American Strats, a Tex-Mex Strat, a Tele Plus, a Schecter Black Jack, a Lace Huntington Drop & Gain and a Peavey ST-EXP Limited. My favorite guitars are my Tele Plus and American Lone Star, but this fine Peavey EXP can hold its own with the big boys. The pickups have plenty of output and the guitar plays great. I had considered changing out the pups, but have decided to leave the guitar as is because it sounds great. It's the guitar I always have available to pickup and play. I'm never disappointed. I think the bang for the buck is nuclear!!! Highly recommended

        Nice fat tele
