OVERVIEW

A solid instrument you can trust for good sound.

Named after Peavey's founder and CEO, Hartley Peavey, the HP Signature EX Guitar is the ultimate refinement of the playability, tone, style, and technology Peavey has developed over the past 39 years. It's built on a solid foundation, using the finest selected woods, hardware, and pickups for brilliant tone as well as a distinctive, unmistakable appearance.

This HP Signature EX Guitar is constructed using basswood for a warm, full sound, and the Dual-Compression Bridge for longer sustain, and a veneer quilt maple top for flashy looks. The Dual-Compression Bridge system is a unique, string-through design creating a metal-to-metal connection for singing sustain and stronger string presence.

The rosewood fretboard provides a finger-friendly playing surface, while 2 patented, dual-wound, hum-canceling pickups provide high output and unmatched tone. The Peavey HP Signature EX also features quality Grover tuners, 2 volume knobs, one tone knob, and a 3-way, toggle-style pickup selector.

I purchased the sunburst model about 1 month ago from this site,(Very fast shipment) I was really surprised when I opened the box, the finish is stunning! Gorgeous appointments such as the gold plated Grover tuners(which are smooth and accurate)as well as the Humbuckers. There were plenty of oohs and awws from everyone in the room but the real joy came when I plugged it into my little Marshall practice amp, WOW! the sound was fantastic,I can't believe Peavey made as fine a guitar as this for only $299,it has good weight to it also. I have played guitar and played hundreds of different guitars for about 30 years, this is honestly one of the best I've played. If you are looking for a Les Paul (like I was) or something with humbuckers you gotta try this thing out, it is so much fun to play, my wife says she is getting jealous of it, seriously, you can't go wrong with this beautiful guitar, BUY IT QUICK before the prices go up.

I purchased this guitar because it got good reviews and it looks incredible (sunburst). When I got it I opened the box the finish was awsome, but I noticed alot of spliters and generaly poor condition around the frets, #19 was raised way up for some reason and caused a very bad fret buzz even though the action was extremly high, and very hard to play. Also the gold finished hardware is very cheap it discolors the second you touch it. The good side is the pickups. They sound great very good tone I wish I could take the pickups and put them in a different guitar. I sent this guitar back hoping it was just a bad one and that the next one would be better. It wasn't the frets were even worse and the pearloid inlays looked terrible. Sent that one back too. Now I'm getting an epi LP standard. I suggest saving yourself the trouble and buying a different brand.

Ive had this guitar since last Christmas and over the last year I've played many guitars and still attached to this axe. When distorted, the pickups sound like EMG's, when clean, they sound like BB kings 355. I mean its got beautiful tone and sound, great fretplay, beautiful paintjob, and fer how many things I run into or hit with this thing it barely has a TINY bump and I have yet to see a scratch so this guitar is built great. This is truly a work of whatever rock God rules over us!

I have owned my HP Signature EX. (Sunburst)since Feb. 2006 and it just gets better with age, I did install a Dimarzio Evolution in the bridge section and dressed it up a bit (amber colored top-hat knobs) but other than that this guitar is stock and is a true rockin machine, I love the way this guitar feels on my shoulder, it is in no ways a light weighted guitar but if your use to playing Les Pauls you wont have any trouble, the finish has stayed true and the gold plated hardware has not turned, you really don't need to swap pickups like I did but I just like doing little things like that to my guitars, the stock pups sound better than most others out there really! I didn't change the neck pup cause it has such a killer tone, deep and bluesy with excellant jazz tones. If you are shopping for your next guitar you really should check this one out, like I stated I have had mine since Feb. 2006 and it has only gotten better

Great guitar

By JimmyPageFanatic

This guitar is absolutely great, it feels like a Les Paul with out having to sell your arm and a leg to get it. The tone is great and the neck feels incredible. Its so cheap for such a great guitar, you would be crazy to pass this one up

Nice finish, good sound, great guitar

By GuitarDude3220

from Scotia, NY

I had this for about a week because i didn't realize i needed the money for other things, but i really liked it. It's basically an LP copy with a strat body. Tunes well, i really loved the finish on the back and the neck. The tone was comparable to an LP, but it also sounded a little like a strat. It also sounded ok for jazz, but anyway, Gold finish on pickups, 2 volume knobbies, 2 tone knobbies. Overall, great guitar for the money.

just plain sweet

My HP Signature EX Peavey is my second guitar, and every time I pick it up I am amazed with how it plays, feels, and sounds. I don't play the other guitar anymore. I've had the HP Signature EX for a year now, and I can say honestly that this is an excellent guitar. I'm not an expert or a professional, but value isn't the most important thing to me, I want a nice guitar. I'm still surprised that the price is what it is. But forget about the price, it's an awesome guitar and I recommend it.

Great guitar for the money. Sounds like an LP. It doesn't have the same finished quality as Korean made guitars, but then again it's quite a bit cheaper.

I love this guitar so much, I bought another one. For me, it's better than an Epiphone LP; less expensive and built just as good. I own a USA made HP Select and this guitar really is just as good, I'm afraid to say. Get one!

BEST bang for the buck, Guaranteed.

By Anonymous

Ok, I've been playing for 3 years now, am self-taught and because I dont know a thing about notes, I listen both to follow, get down, lead, and write songs. Because I depend a lot on my listening ability to play, I really know what a crappy sounding guitar is and what a good sounding guitar is, and I must say, this is an AWSOME guitar. I've played from a strat, to an LP, to almost any "style" of guitar and this thing just sounds awsome. If you've ever wanted a guitar that could go from warm to sharp tones in such an incredible and rich way, this is the way to go. This thing is just so versatile and sounds so awsome. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PRICE! If you have the money, BUY IT NOW, you will ABSOLUTELY wont regreat it.

I was drawn to this guitar because of the looks. But once I played it, I had to have it.The playability is unmatched at this price. The Peavey Signature Series is a great value. From beginner to seasoned Pro. the 3 models in this series could span your whole career.

I just got the sunburst model today, and it is absolutely awesome! Super clear and crisp pickups, great looks, great sound, great feel, and an even better price. I ran it through my friends GuitarPort, and the sounds were one-of-a-kind. I would recommend this axe to anybody. Keep Rockin'!

Best guitar!!!!!For the Money

I've had this guitar for about two months. I was looking for a cheap guitar that look good, but also plays good. I was amazed when it arrived because I couldn't believed a guitar could look that good for the money. I bought the sunburst and it looks awesome. But the most important thing is that it sounds awesome. Although it would sound better if put some Seymour JB's in it. I would highly recommend this guitar to everybody. Great for all style's of music. Nice job Peavey.
