A classic configuration with a vintage voice.
The PRS SE Custom 22 adds a more vintage tone and feel to the traditional Custom platform. This guitar has a pronounced mid-range and clarity that provides a sweet, full tonal base, allowing it to easily sit in the mix of your band or recording.
Like its 24-fret brother, the SE Custom 22 sports a maple top with mahogany back and 25 in. scale length. Additional appointments include dual humbuckers with a volume, tone, and 3-way toggle switch and a PRS-designed stoptail bridge. For players who grew up on 22 frets, the SE Custom 22 is a solid choice that will take anything you throw at it. Includes gig bag.

Comments about PRS 2017 SE Custom 22 Electric Guitar:
I have had the PRS SE Custom 22 for 2 weeks, and look forward to it's first gig this weekend. For the money, the guitar is unbelievable. I have owned and played an American made PRS Standard 22 for 15 years, so I have a good baseline to compare it to. The guitar arrived in perfect condition, and I could tell by the protective plastic on the back plates that it had never been played. They started to peel off after just a song or two, so I knew the item was brand new.
I was a little concerned about the action of the guitar upon arrival. I checked it against my Standard 22, and it was way high, hard to play. I needed it adjusted right away. The documentation that came with it had directions on adjusting the rod, and there are videos online. I adjusted the rod about 1/4 turn clockwise, and now the action rivals the American made PRS. Before adjusting the rod, I immediately changed the strings to a 10 gauge set. The guitar came with 9 gauge.
I like the tone better than my original model; much less muddy in the midrange section. It is also lighter than the original, so that was a plus. The gig bag is very nice, but I hate to travel with it in a soft case. It fits into the original Standard 22 hardshell case, but the neck has about a .5" gap between it and the padding. I fold and put a washcloth in there. Other people have commented that when they buy a hardshell PRS case, they have the same issue with the new models.
I called Musicians Friend to see if the 10% holiday sales discount applied to all items, and she said that she could offer me 25% off! No tax, Free shipping. I have seen used models for the price I paid for this.
