Traditional McCarty features and cutting-edge pickups.

The PRS Guitars 25th Anniversary McCarty Narrowfield 10-Top Electric Guitar honors revered design mentor Ted McCarty. Following in the footsteps of Ted's innovative spirit, the McCarty 10-Top guitar combines all the traditional features of the original and adds cutting edge pickups.

Passive PRS narrowfield pickups shrink the sensory field detecting the string much like a single-coil but are hum canceling. The result is a new sounding pickup with blended features of single-coil, soapbar and humbucking pickups. The 10-top PRS 25th Anniversary McCarty narrowfield guitar offers a new sound with traditional flavor.

Comments about PRS 25th Anniversary McCarty 10-Top Electric Guitar with Narrowfield Pickups:

Simple and pure. Sweet tone, looks, feel, and dynamics. The narrowfield pickups are the best overall pickups I have ever played and are very well matched with the tone woods on this guitar (mahogany neck / body and rosewood fingerboard. Highly recommend.

Comments about PRS 25th Anniversary McCarty 10-Top Electric Guitar with Narrowfield Pickups:

First of all I feel that I paid more than the guitar cost, the same can be said about any product with a PRS name on it. In order to compare the PRS, I have to let you know what guitars were used stacked up against the PRS. Since I have a small recording studio, I have more equipment more than most. I have 4 Fenders that are American Deluxe Strat & Tele, Telecaser 72 vintage thinline semi hollow body plus A signature Jimmy Vaugn Stratocaster.A A Gibson LP Classic 1960, E-335 a rare Epiphone LP with mini humbuckers made prior to China. The other two I have are a G&L Comanche made by Leo Fender, and an Ibanez S-series. The amp is used were a Marshall JVM410H half stack, Fender Twin Reverb, Fender Blues Jr. NOS, and a Vox AC15A1. The PRS could create any sound I was looking for, blues, metal, classic rock, country, and Gospel. However, the sound was no better than the G&L Comanche that goes for less American Deluxe Stratocaster & Telecaster which go for less, and the Fender Telecaster thinline semi hollow body 72 gets sounds that The PRS couldn't. Everything I've told you is to let you know that there are some fantastic guitars on the market far less than the PRS. If I were to have something happen to my guitars, I would replace them with the same model I have with the exception of the PRS. Remember, I told you that the PRS was great in every area but price. My reason for purchasing the PRS was the same reason others buy them. There is a mind set that states if you don't have a PRS then you don't have a good guitar. Try some of the guitars I have, and it should be noted that I have had my Fenders with the exception of one, for at least 5 years. However, if you have the money and you must have one, then you haven't wasted your money. You just gave more for a guitar that others at a lower cost can give you the same sound.Oh yes. The reason for the 4 starts was based on the cost.

Comments about PRS 25th Anniversary McCarty 10-Top Electric Guitar with Narrowfield Pickups:

I bought this guitar yesterday at a local guitar shop based purely on tone..The new narrowfield pickups are absolutely amazing and will hold a bent note for infinity! Everyone in the store could not believe the duration of the note without any feedback manipulation..The guitar is an absolute masterpiece instrument. Play it once and you will be sold like I was :)
