strap it on, the balance is neutral. it holds any position you put it in. it makes it easier to play as it doesn't fight you. and the balance between the pickups is creamy smooth. has a wonderfull sound for blues with my fender twin at even low volume. would not change my mind to buy it, highly reccomend it.
I cannot think of a better solid body electric guitar on the market. I have owned mine for a year now, and I can honestly say that I do not need another electric guitar period. I also own an American strat, but I hardly play it anymore. True story!
I've owned my 10 top for about three years now and still fall in love with it every time I play it. The versatility of this axe is not to be underestimated. The tone is gorgeous and the feel is perfect. I really can't say enough great things about this guitar. Hurt my wallet a little, but I still feel it was worth it.
This is the finest guitar I have ever owned or played, PERIOD! A truly professional instrument for the discriminating musician. Hat's off for offering such a superb guitar at a fair price.
I just brought my new Custom 22 home and this thing is undescribable!!!! I have been looking at the Deluxe Fender Strat for about 8 months, I finally tried this per my guitar teachers advise and man am I glad I didn't go with the Strat! Neck is Fat and very smooth, the action is great and the sounds out of this thing are awesome, I can go from Metal to blues with the turn of the selector. The craftmanship is better than any Strat that I have seen. I think the money spent for this guitar is an investment because the value will only go up. I can't believe how great this thing feels and sounds. If you are serious about playing and plan to continue playing this instrument is worth every penny!!!!
i just perchasted a 2003 PRS singlecut 22custom ten top a few weeks ago and i love it. i was wanting something that had a gibson sound, looked great, had long sustain, and could handle distortion but sound great clean.I played several gibsons(the SG standard and several les Pauls)and wasn't satified (a really let down from the quality of the new les pauls) then i played a fender tel and strat both nice. then i came upon this gem of a guitar and i could not beleive it.The action was great, everthing i was looking for. This is a stand-out guitar both the sound and the beautiful looks. I chose this over all the other guitars i played. So if you are looking at buying a gibson i would play one of these and compare you may be surprised. love this guitar.
Guitar sounds great, lot of versitility and plenty of tone! almost as over-priced as a les paul though. can get a simular quality guitar for half the price!
This guitar does everything you could ask, its nice to not need to lug 2 or more guitars around. I have played a lot of guitars over the last 43 years and this one is really impressive.
Ok, I was skeptical about the price on this baby for so long. I should never have been. The tone one this guitar is awesome! I've never heard a better clean tone on any other. Sustain is infinite. If you wanna rock out, use this! Pinch harms, naturals, solos... all made easier with this guitar. I love it!
This guitar has a great clean tone, sounds great, distorted has a nice thick rich tone and it's beautifully made and painted. It's got the sweet tone of a Fender and the bite of an Ibanez. It's very comfortable to play.
This is the greatest guitar ever. I have this guitar. Before I bought it I played this and a gibson les paul. I dont know why jimmy page or slash use them they suck compared to this guitar. It plays better, sounds better, the fret board kicks the pauls ass, and its much better looking. It may be a little pricey but its worth it. its better live then the les paul. No guitar stands up to this one. My advice is get the 20th anniversery the neck is better looking. get this guitar before any other guitar. if you are even thinking about getting a different guitar don't it's not worth it! PRS for life
Need this guitar but cant put up the money.. I just got done playing one of these guitars and it plays like butter. The fingerboard is incredible I have always been an SG guy but know I might have to sell one to buy this PRS.
Unsurpassed quality and sound!
I own the Artist Package Custom 22, which is tonally no different than the 10-top. This guitar is beautiful and performs unlike any other high-end guitar I've played. I've visited the factory down in Stevensville and seen how they are built, and the amount of love and attention that goes into each instrument shines through with every note. I sell guitars and have experience with almost every high end guitar imaginable, and I bought this one. I highly recommend it.
I own this guitar and it is by far the best guitar I have ever played in my life. Very rarely can a guitar player own the greatest guitar he's played. Mine is a 20th anniversary and the sounds that come from this guitar are amazing. I can play in standard tuning or tune down to B and this guitar sounds great either way. If you want to spend the money on a versatile guitar, this is the one I highly highly suggest it.
I don't have too much time playing, but I am very concerned about the way I sound. This is a well done guitar. Very good sound. Nice bass, punchy mids and a treble that tight things up. Nice feature that floating tremolo and the 5 pickup position knobs. I recommend to get it with 3 pickup position switch instead, it's easier to change to an specific position than the knob in the middle of a song or solo. It has a strong sound perfect for rhythm and it can cut through the music for solos. It's the guitar that is in between a Les Paul and a Stratocaster, it has characteristics of both, strong sound and great sustain from the Les Paul, and the softness and cutting sound from the Strat.
I have to say that this guitar is AMAZING. I recently purchased this guitar after three months of toiling. It was this or the Les Paul. I chose PRS due to the sound quality and the versatility. This piece can handle anything and everything, and to top it off it looks AWESOME.This is the perfect tool for the active musician who wants to find that one guitar for all styles of music. Great set up straight off the production line. Way to go Paul Reed Smith!
I have been playing guitar for a while and have owned and played all the top guitars of each brand, adn this PRS is at the top of my list. I just recently had finally saved up and baught me one and I love it so much. The distorted sound is awesome and the clean sound sounds so crisp. I would recommend this product to everyone who loves to play a guitar.
This guitar had everything i was looking for! It is not only beautiful, but it has a great tone and feel. It even plays better then my Original 62 Gibson S-G!! it may be a little overpriced, but it is well worth it. I never have any tuning problems, like other guitar I have had. make sure you go to guitar center, and try it out on a Mesa Boogie Mark IV.
I LOVE MY PRS GUITARS !!!The price for this guitar is a little much, However, The price on most PRS Guitars will only go up in time, The only thing is you need to take good care of it! If you do this, you'll end up with a lot more money for it down the road! I would have gave a ten for this guitar, But I had a problem with the fixed bridge. The problem is you are only able to use the same gauge strings that came with the guitar. Maybe 1/2 size bigger or smaller, But that's it! I was able to fix the problem by using a adjustable bridge from a McCarty Hollowbody. By doing this, I believe I was able to get a much better sound from my guitar! Other then the brridge, I believe this is a very will made gguitar. The PRS Custom 22 also sounds as will as it plays! This guitar is able to get all the best sounds of a Fender Strat and a Gibson Les Paul, You just can't go wrong with a guitar like this!
