PRS has developed many new guitar models over the years and some of the newer PRS guitars (read cheaper) blemish the quality and sound of the originals. I bought a Custom 24 with moon inlays new in 1987 and it has been my main axe since performing thousands of gigs. I have been playing guitar since '64 and needless to say have owned may different models. This guitar delivers everything I have ever wanted in tone and versatilty. With that said, how many guitars can be played and recognized "outside" the venue where you are playing. I have had mine for eighteen years, it shows some wear here and there, cymbals (ouch), rooted out mahogony in "e" position, but the original set up is still there with only minor intonation adjustments, it has never required to be sent back to PRS and it stays in tune under abuse and in the case! I've only played one other PRS, a Dragon (nice) and I really don't know about these newer bolt on neck models, but if you want a guitar that will fill all your playing needs and sounds absolutely fantastic get your hands on a true Custom 24. Did I mention that the older they get, the more value they accumulate? Oh yeah! Mine is worth three times what I payed for it, Thank You Paul Reed Smith!!
