Upgraded with a piezo system, new finish, and a new neck shape.

With brilliant acoustics and a vast array of tones, the Hollowbody II has been a constant favorite in our dynamic lineup of semi-hollow instruments. The combination of the maple top and back with mahogany sides provides tonal clarity and extraordinary resonance.

The Hollowbody II now comes standard with V12 finish, a Pattern neck and 57/08 pickups. The PRS/LR Baggs Piezo System is now standard as well, allowing you to plug into your PA or recording console and your amp at the same time.

    V12 Finish
Finish should enhance the look, sound, and feel of a guitar by accentuating the wood's inherent beauty and feel without hindering its natural resonance. And PRS Guitars' new "V12" finish does just that. Introduced at Experience PRS 2010, "V12" is a very thin, hard, and clear finish that will not crack or react with thinners. After roughly 12 years in development, it is halfway between acrylic and nitro but with a classic feel all its own. "PRS models with this new finish feel like old instruments," said Paul Reed Smith.

    Pattern Neck Shape
Neck shapes have always been a high priority for us and a hallmark of our quality. A guitar should feel comfortable, like "home," as soon as you pick it up, and the neck is paramount to that connection. Perfected after years of prototyping, the new "Pattern" neck is an updated Wide Fat PRS neck style based on Paul's pre-factory design. These necks were found on the instruments built for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton and Howard Leese from the late 70's to the mid 80's.

Whether in woodworking, machining, or cast and die work, pattern making is the art of arriving at a perfect standard which can be duplicated or used to create new designs from by "offsetting." All of their necks came to be as a result of offsetting from this original, Wide Fat design.

Comments about PRS Hollowbody II Electric Guitar:

incredible tone, light and a joy to play. the piezo circuit sounds great through a P.A or an acoustic amp (I have both). I plan to buy a Bose P.A and I look forward to the kind of sound I get. I got the last faded blue burst they had and it is gorgeous. This guitar is everything you would expect from a PRS. I also have a '513', two "408's , a custom colour narrowfield, a custom 24,and a p-22. plus a Dave Navarro SE, and custom 24 SE, and they are all great.
As a former Professional musician and singer I wish I had bought these sooner but I was happy with all my Gibsons, Ibanez, Sheckter, etc. But PRS has opened up a whole new world of playability, tone and sound for me.

Comments about PRS Hollowbody II Electric Guitar:

Let me start off by saying this is one of the best guitars i have ever purchased. Since the day i got it i have found it just about impossible to put down. One of the most shocking things about this guitar is how much it weighs, it is as light as a feather! The tone of this guitar is spectacular( Normal or Piezo) and Having both makes you feel like you have two seperate guitars! If you are looking for a nice hollowbody and a new acoustic this is a must buy. (Includes case)
