With brilliant acoustics and a vast array of tones, the Hollowbody II has been a constant favorite in our dynamic lineup of semi-hollow instruments. The combination of the maple top and back with mahogany sides provides tonal clarity and extraordinary resonance.
The Hollowbody II now comes standard with V12 finish, a Pattern neck and 57/08 pickups. The PRS/LR Baggs Piezo System is now standard as well, allowing you to plug into your PA or recording console and your amp at the same time.
Finish should enhance the look, sound, and feel of a guitar by accentuating the wood's inherent beauty and feel without hindering its natural resonance. And PRS Guitars' new "V12" finish does just that. Introduced at Experience PRS 2010, "V12" is a very thin, hard, and clear finish that will not crack or react with thinners. After roughly 12 years in development, it is halfway between acrylic and nitro but with a classic feel all its own. "PRS models with this new finish feel like old instruments," said Paul Reed Smith.
Pattern Neck Shape
Neck shapes have always been a high priority for us and a hallmark of our quality. A guitar should feel comfortable, like "home," as soon as you pick it up, and the neck is paramount to that connection. Perfected after years of prototyping, the new "Pattern" neck is an updated Wide Fat PRS neck style based on Paul's pre-factory design. These necks were found on the instruments built for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton and Howard Leese from the late 70's to the mid 80's.
Whether in woodworking, machining, or cast and die work, pattern making is the art of arriving at a perfect standard which can be duplicated or used to create new designs from by "offsetting." All of our necks came to be as a result of offsetting from this original, Wide Fat design.

Comments about PRS Hollowbody II with 10-Top Electric Guitar:
incredible guitar. this guitar could be a great custom fit for your style and likes. it does not play like a specific guitar nor sound like another. i will try to be broad for all guitarists. 1st - this guitar sounds, feels, looks, and plays like its price.. well worth the money. NECK - nice smooth round, fatter early gibson style neck that is very comfortable and favored by many.(about inbetween strat c shape and u shape fender neck). FRETBOARD - silky smooth feel in shifts/bends/vibrato, great inlay art. TOTAL access to all 22 frets, with incredible ease.
TUNING - locking tuners perform very well. stays in tune and is very reliable. SCALE LENGTH - not as wide of frets as a strat but not as short as a les paul. its a beautiful balance for someone wishing for that sweet inbetween. BODY - great for a player who wants a fully hollow body in a strat-like body. hand selected wood, guaranteed a beautiful finish and they truly are gorgeous. smaller fully hollow body makes it extremely lightweight. tone from body is warm, woody, dynamic, responsive and has plenty of punch and bite. guitar stays very tonal on every string, and wont muddy up on E,A,D,G strings like many larger style es335 style semi-hollow bodies. the tone stays and goes anywhere you go on the neck. PICKUPS - based off classic late 50's humbuckers i believe. sound great clean or with gain. very warm. TONAL CAPABILITIES - you can play full electric (3 pup selections) or mix electric/piezo (3 same selections) or only use piezo (3 selections) totaling to a possible 9 pickup combinations at the flick of 2 switches. OUTPUTS - can use mixed (piezo and/or electric into amp) or seperate piezo (one amp) and electric (2nd amp).
