Comments about PRS S2 Custom 22 Electric Guitar:

I didn`t stumble onto pS until I`d been playing for 40 years. I won`t gig with anything else anymore. My S2 custom 22 has all the tone, feel, and tuning stability you could hope for in a guitar, and it`s Americn made. I`d been unhappy with G & F guitars for years. This S2 is the first guitar I haven`t modified in any way, and that includes my core PRS. All the components are good quality for the money, and nothing beats a PRS trem. If you don`t like the sound of the pickups, don`t hestate to raise, lower them, or adjust the pole pieces. PRS pickups are more tunable than any other brand I`ve tried, including many boutique brands. This is a keeper!

Comments about PRS S2 Custom 22 Electric Guitar:

I have a '92 blackie strat. I have a Tele. I have Gibson Les Paul Standard. I have a Gretsch so i'm thinking "I need a guitar fix, whats next"? I took a flyer on this Paul Reed Smith (not PRS but Paul Reed Smith) AMERICAN MADE guitar and brother (or sister) I'm glad I did. Didnt want to buy the total higher end model because frankly I wasnt expecting a big difference but WOW! I tried This vs. every cheaper foreign made PRS model I could lay my hands on (after I bought this one) and IMHO, no contest/different league. This thing is the absolute missing link and will take your game more than likely to a whole different level as far as feel and tone go. The more I play it the higher it climbs up my fav guitar ranking chart. Just play one and see. If the non-S2 customs get better than this then I might be liquidating everything else to get one. (warning! do not think the foreign PRS guitars are ANYTHING like this. Get THIS not THAT and you wont be bummed.)

Comments about PRS S2 Custom 22 Electric Guitar:

Plain and simple: American made. Played great out of the box. After around 2 hrs. had it set to my standards ( they are quite precise) Best deal you will find for this quality. Of course it isn't a core model. But then, Who wants to worry bout scratches and dents when making music. That can wait till after you make the millions. Seriously, If you are a pro player you will find the common sense in this production. nice fat feel comfortable and smooth to play. At this price get 3 like I did....

Comments about PRS S2 Custom 22 Electric Guitar:

The tone, feel, playability and workmanship, on this guitar are superb. In fact it is so good that the guitar just gets out of the way, and you play without really thinking about the guitar itself. It is ready to play out of the box. No further set up required.

I like the mix of a traditional type electric guitar, with modern appointments:
            - Simple control interface (3 way blade toggle, and a coil tap on the tone control).
            - Hand written serial number is a nice touch. It makes it feel personal, completely hand built just for you (I'm sure it was not completely hand built).

The reasons I cannot give it 5 stars:
            - The ball ends of the strings get lodged tightly in the tremolo, making string changes difficult. I have to use a tool to gently pry them loose. I believe this is a design problem.
            - The covers at the back for the tremolo and electronics seem like cheap hard plastic.

Comments about PRS S2 Custom 22 Electric Guitar:

If you were in the same boat as me (trying to decide if it's worth spending the extra $$$ on an S2 over an SE) I can tell you now that the S2 blows any SE away in terms of build quality, tone, feel, and ease of playing.

This guitar has the exact same tone and playability of a core model PRS for literally less than half the price. What you're not getting are the bonus aesthetic features like the binding and carved top, but it's still a gorgeous guitar in its own right - more importantly, the tone is there. The tone that comes out of this guitar is incredible.

People that say this guitar is just an overpriced SE have no idea what they're talking about or must not have been playing for that long.

In my 15 years of guitar playing, this is by far the best guitar purchase I've ever made at this price point. I cannot think of any other guitar for this price that plays and sounds as good as this one.

Comments about PRS S2 Custom 22 Electric Guitar:

The pickups in this guitar are very responsive, and the volume and tone knobs are great as well. I can just plug straight into my amp and get a little bit of grit with the volume knob at ten on the guitar for a great blues tone. The fret board plays great, and the vibrato is probably the best out there.
