A stripped-down look with powerful tone.
The PRS S2 Standard 22 Satin takes the traditional S2 Standard 22 platform and adds a stealthy finish. The thin, hard satin nitro finish gives this instrument a wonderful resonance and an open clarity that’s noticeable even when unplugged. The 85/15 "S" pickups are ready to befriend whatever genre you feel like playing at tonight’s gig: high gain punk and metal, to warm, bassy blues. The push/pull tone control allows for coil tapping and on-the-fly versatility. For players looking for a versatile workhorse with a distinguished look, the S2 Standard 22 Satin is a perfect choice. Includes gig bag.

Comments about PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin:
Great guitar. With satin finishes, you have to embrace the wear, which I find to be cool and personalizes your guitar. Once received, I installed a tremol-no block because I don't you tremolos ever. Also, gave it a proper setup. This thing plays amazing and sounds great too. This guitar alone is going to replace my Les Paul Traditional Pro and my Fender American Standard Tele. Pickups, along with the coil split, are very versatile and usable. I highly recommend this guitar.

Comments about PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin:
I was mildly apprehensive before ordering this guitar. My local shops don't carry the S2 line, so I had no chance to play one prior to ordering. I had no concerns about the quality; as the current and former owner of 3 PRS guitars (2 SEs and an early 90s EG) I knew the craftsmanship would be second to none. Knowing that the S2s get the same electronics and (mostly) the same hardware as the SEs did make me think twice however. Outside of my Am. Std. Strat I have never owned a high-end American-made instrument, and so have yet to own a humbucker equipped guitar that I didn't feel the need to upgrade the pickups on. After a couple of weeks with this new S2, I still haven't. These may be the best non-oem pickups I have heard to date (although the "Tone Furnace" pickups that came on the SE Custom 22 were also pretty good), but but they still don't compare to a quality Seymour Duncan/DiMarzio/EMG/etc. Other than that, I will say that the overall quality of the instrument is excellent. The fit and finish are near perfect, and while the neck profile will take some getting used to, that is on me, not the guitar. The mahogany body and neck make for a very light guitar, in fact in conjunction with the pattern regular (narrow/fat) neck profile one might think they were picking up an SG if blindfolded. The satin finish is IMO a nice change from the gloss/painted finishes on my other guitars, and makes for a nice neck feel that offers no resistance to your hand. The action is good out of the box, may get better once I've had a chance to work with it. The intonation was also excellent right out of the box, and the tremolo holds its tune very well, even after doing deep dives. This last item was a concern, since the S2 reportedly comes with the same bridge as the SE, and my '14 SE Custom 24 will not hold tune after heavy dives, even after installing locking tuners and a TUSQ nut. Overall this is a very nice guitar, and at the price you don't have to worry about taking it on a gig.
