I've owned two of these a 2001 and a 2005 both were great and never a problem even with the tuners being just average. If you can string a guitar the right way, the thing stays in tune pretty well. With GHS Boomers 10-46 it's great even with the tremolo system. Pickups are good and if you want Dragons or HFS just spend the extra cash and try them. Since the guitar is less than half of your sound, it really works with a Marshall JCM 900 head and also the AVT50. Finish quality is a polyurethane coat that is very good. The neck and fret board are of good quality and feel great. I highly rec. this guitar to anyone who refuses to pay for overpriced USA guitars that sound very similar and easy to make some changes to get that sound. If you want a museum piece then get a USA PRS, if you want a Workhorse for a club gig then get any of these SE models. Played all of them and they work fine plus you don't have to worry about denting your 3K Guitar.Great price and a great axe for any level player.Just adjust to taste and have a good amp to do the work as well. Bottom Line is It Works!!

I had to take 1 back because the cream binding was scratched up. Found the same problem on 2 more before I found one that was ok. The high e string when played open has a very dead sound(Nut cut wrong). I would not buy another one. I traded a Shecter Gryphon for this guitar and it was a big mistake! Soon as I get a chance, I will get rid of this guitar and get an American Series Strat or Another Schecter, maybe C-1!

This guitar is not as good as the Santana SE2001 model, the pickguard makes it look odd. The choice of colors was bad also.

Great Guitar

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I just decided to review this because I put alot of weight in the reveiws i read, and they have helped me a ton when buying over the internet. This guitar is just an amazing guitar that the more i play the more i love. I have had it going on 2 years now, and loved it from the start. I did upgrade mine with SD pickups, and now it really screams. The stock pickups are great, on clean they are really great. But i had to get something alittle dirty. Other than that i just added some strap locks. I keep trying to upgrade guitars because i didn't spend a thousand bucks on this guitar, and i think of how good those most play and sound. Well I haven't found anything yet. Good guitar BUY IT!! Great for anyone from beginner to whatever, worth ever penny, and you can't say that about much these days.

This is my first '10' rated guitar

By Anonymous

This is a great quality guitar. this is a great looking guitar. This is a great priced guitar. And most importantly this is a great, great , great playing and sounding guitar. I was shopping for the epi 400 custom and found zthis one on the used rack. I am not a PRS man nor very experienced with their products except for the price which usually eliminates my consideration for PRS. they generally are pretty guitars for someone else. Playing the Santana Se was a wonderful awakening to a 10 rated guitar. I negotiated the price and this has to be the second best deal I ever finagled (a gibson custom for $350 was the best deal). I am very pleased with the quality of PRS over Ibanez, yamaha, gibson and especially over Fender. I still own Fenders and like them but this Santana really kicks the other axes a--es.As Waltler Brennan used to say..."No Brag just Fact."

Great because it has PRS quality and a low price

The tone and texture of its strums are terrific. They are the kind that get you noticed in to the lime-light!

A nice guitar

By Jon-7RjN9

from Davis, CA

This axe is a great value. Even though it is Korean made, the short scale (22 frets) and wide neck make it very playable. I have had mine for 2 weeks & really enjoy it even though it is hard to keep in tune. It sounds great even through a cheap Peavey practice amp & the pickups are more than satisfactory. Go ahead and buy it!

Best money for value ratio ever.

By Anonymous

This is one of the best guitars Ive ever played. I run it through a vintage Standel (2 15's) guitar amp run by my Fender DeVille 410. The tone is astounding. I absolutely love the pickups on this guitar. Power chords are powerful and single notes are clear. If you need a good soild sound for less than a thousand dollars, then definately try this one out. This seriously sounds as good as higher-end Gibsons I've played. The only problem is the nut needs a little widening for thicker strings. I put Gibson Flatwound 12-52's the lower ones didn't really fit as well. They still play well and in tune, but they stick up a little much. Regular 9's or 10's would do fine, though.

I love the bassy tones on this guitar. It is smooth and never punchy, making this a great, affordable guitar. I highly recommend it!

Sounds awesome, great sustain and great price

This guitar sounds awesome distorted and awesome clean. It has great sustain, and it's very cheap for the kind of quality it is. I would say the only down side is it doesn't really stand out - but I don't care about looks as much as tone.

GREAT BUY!!!

By Southerna7x91

from Kokomo, IN

This was my first real electric guitar, and I am still proud to have picked this out. This guitar has an all mahogany body which makes it lightweight, and it also allows your hand to move easily up and down the neck. The overall sound of the ax is great and the sustain is great too. This is great for heavy rhythms and it is also great for leads and solos. I hope this review is somewhat helpful!

PRS Santana SE - Pearl White

By MrPatis

from San Jose, CA

For the price, this is an awesome guitar. It has GREAT tone and the quality is amazing for a guitar not made in the USA. I've had it about a year now, and absolutely nothing has fallen apart. If you're looking for an affordable PRS, or just an affordable guitar, this would be the best bet!

Awesome

By Insaner

I've had my Santana for about six months and I have been greatly impressed by its versatility and great sound. If you're looking for a great guitar, look no further than a PRS. And for an awesome PRS, look to the Santana.

Incredible

By s84flip

from Brick, NJ

When I was looking for a new guitar, i came across this one. After narrowing it down to this a strat and a dean, I went with this. It's got a mean sound and feel. My only complaint is it could be a little sharper with the tone.

just ok

By Scott-7i9Vr

from Cincinnati

I have owned this guitar for a few years now. Ever since I owned it I've had problems keeping the G string in tune. The problem has gotten worse over the years. I can only play for a few minutes before the G drops lower. Not very good distortion. I would recommend it for cleaner classic rock, but not hard rock/metal. Doesn't have much crunch to it. It does feel very good though. The reason I bought it was because of the fit/ease of play. Not a bad guitar if you can keep it in tune.

Amazing

By Anonymous

This guitar, for its price, is by far the best guitar I've played. Really it can take some guitars in the $**** and put them to shame. I love the humbuckers, very warm, smooth sound but still with that great lead sound. The mahogany body and neck gives a great sound that is thoroughly incomparable.

Gibson Beating Tone and Price!!

By Josh-FZBCS

It took me almost a year to settle on a new guitar and this one was the last one I found. I was looking at SG's and Les Pauls and found the the Epiphones to be lacking. This PRS puts even some of the Gibson SG's and LP's to shame for the price and tone!
