I received my Paul Reed Smith SC 245 today and let me tell you it is a thing of pure beauty. The finish and build quality of this guitar is Amazing! I will probably change the strings from the stock 10's to 9's if I can't get used to them, but that's a matter of preference. The pick ups can deliver all of those classic tones which this guitar was designed to deliver. If your in the market for a single cutaway, look no further. And to all you Gibson fan's, I've owned many Gibson Les Paul models over the years and not that this guitar put's them to shame. But it does come out a winner! It's finish, quality and vib won me over, not to mention that it is much lighter on your back.
Well I tried this godly guitar up at Woodsy's because I am a BIG PRS fan... but I don't have one :( If we were to compare one of these to a Gibson Les Paul it would blow it out of the sky because: It is much more comfortable (the cutaway spots for more comfort), it is lighter, uses the same kind of wood, easier to reach the upper frets because of the cutaway and it just sounds better all together. I currently own a Gibson Les Paul studio which is chambered and they are around the same weight. PRS for the win! Rock on Alter Bridge!
