Comments about PRS SE Zach Myers Electric Guitar:
This is an extremely well built guitar. It sounds good right out of the box with a proper set up job. But if you want a guitar that outshines most others even close to this pice, completely gut it and put in quality USA parts. Then you'll have a truely pro leval axe.
I have played every single guitar in the PRS SE line. Most of them i truly feel are sub-par. Not this one! We played a show last night and one of the other bands guitarists had this. He let me check it out and i was VERY impressed. Solidly built. Thick Gibson-esque body. Ebony fret board. 3 humbuckers. Beauiful vaneer and blue stain. Its a sonic arsenal!
Here is where this guitar falls short. They must have spent all the production cost on the build and not eletronics. The pickups are weak and very muddy. The tuners are barely ok. And the other electronics are very cheap.
But heres the bright side! The build quality is soooooo high that even after you drop in new pickups, new tuners, new pots, switches, ect. you still have a premium quality guitar for 2k less than a USA model. By all means if you can, get a USA PRA. But after modding this guitar, you get darn close for less than a 3rd of the price.
