Perfect for the studio or the stage.
The Swamp Ash Studio has a swamp ash body that helps provide clear bell-like highs, pronounced mids, and strong lows, and the bolt-on figured maple neck is lightly sealed for a natural, comfortable feel. An updated take on a traditional single-single-hum guitar—with PRS’s proprietary 57/08 Narrowfield pickups in the middle and bass positions in conjunction with a 57/08 humbucking bridge pickup and a 5-way blade pickup selector—this guitar is extremely versatile.
The finish should enhance the look, sound, and feel of a guitar by accentuating the wood’s inherent beauty and feel without hindering its natural resonance. And PRS Guitars’ new “V12” finish does just that. Introduced at Experience PRS 2010, “V12” is a very thin, hard, and clear finish that will not crack or react with thinners. After roughly 12 years in development, it is halfway between acrylic and nitro but with a classic feel all its own. “PRS models with this new finish feel like old instruments,” said Paul Reed Smith.
Pattern Regular Neck Shape
Neck shapes have always been a high priority for PRS and a hallmark of their quality. A guitar should feel comfortable, like “home,” as soon as you pick it up, and the neck is paramount to that connection. The new “Pattern Regular” neck shape is similar to the traditional PRS regular neck found on guitars made in the late 80’s at PRS’s former Virginia Avenue location.
This new neck shape reflects modern tooling and programming that allows PRS to even more precisely shape and consistently reproduce their necks.

Comments about PRS Swamp Ash Studio Electric Guitar:
Great all round guitar. Big range of sounds produced with the switching available from the 3 pickups and coil tap switch.
The finish is to die for and the treatment they give to the maple neck is out of this world. It looks new, but feels played in - perfect.
All you need and nothing you don't need
Typical PRS build quality and attention to detail. Set up was perfect for me
I gave it an 8 because, well....it is expensive!
For example there are PRS SE guitars out there at less than half the price and it is hard to argue that this is more than twice as good as them.
However, I am happy with what I paid and over the moon with the guitar
