OVERVIEW

Unique in design and in tone.

Though the technology behind the RainSong Black Ice Series BI-WS1000N2 acoustic-electric guitar is modern, this versatile instrument is capable of producing immensely rich sound to rival the most respected traditionally made acoustics. The all-graphite top employs RainSong's Projection Tuned Layering technology that eliminates bracing to give the top unparalleled response. The abalone rosette offers a traditional cosmetic touch. The BI-WS1000N2 offers the advantages of both larger and smaller guitars giving it remarkable versatility in a wide range of musical settings. The big and deep sound chamber produces a lot of volume with warm, rolling bass notes. The slim waist and narrower upper bout elicit crisply defined treble sounds for an overall balanced sound. The cutaway encourages high-note forays while the guitar's light weight is an advantage when played standing. The guitar's N2 neck is a result of an extensive, long-term collaboration with renowned artist Steve Miller and master luthier John Bolin. The neck design is based on a modified U profile that has been popular in guitars since the 1950s. While the N2 guitar neck has a more substantial feel than the original RainSong 6-string neck, it is ergonomically sound and actually results in better transfer of string vibration energy to the soundboard. The N2 neck features a truss rod that is accessible from the headstock. Because graphite does not warp or bow with changes in humidity and temperature, the purpose of a truss rod in this RainSong N2 neck is to allow you to customize the relief to suit your playing preferences.Includes a RainSong hardshell case.

Very Surprised!!!

Comments about RainSong Black Ice Series BI-WS1000N2 Graphite Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had been hearing about these guitars for a while & had my first opportunity to play one. I was SHOCKED. I'm pretty traditional in most respects when it comes to guitar construction. It wasn't until I picked up the Al DiMeola Ovation that I was a convert to synthetic materials in guitar construction. The Rainsong is on that same level...maybe better...of tone. And all without bracing! THAT'S weird and very very cool. Everything is free to vibrate naturally...even though the materials aren't. Very organic tone...considering.

Comments about RainSong Black Ice Series BI-WS1000N2 Graphite Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had been playing a top of the line Martin for years and was set on getting another one. I had known of Rainsong for a number of years but was put off for some reason. Until I heard and play ed one. Wow! Hands down, the tone and action beat out my Martin, and easy. That's quite a compliment! The playability is unbelievable; it feels so easy to play barre chords, and you can really shred on this if that's your thing. I like that I can take it out any time and it will still be in tune. The electronics and case are all top notch, and it comes equipped with Elixir strings. They really go all-out on their guitars and make sure you feel like you are playing the best. I have converted some of my fellow guitarists who just can't believe you can get that kind of tone from carbon.

    Sounds great and looks stunning!

Comments about RainSong Black Ice Series BI-WS1000N2 Graphite Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The sound is crystal clear, rich and warm tones. Stunningly beautiful with a mirror finish that reflects everything. The "Black Ice" effect looks to me like black ice crystals that the images don't do it justice. Looks incredible in person. This instruments action plays like any other in the same price range and better. It's construction is sturdy and strong, but what else would you expect from a carbon fiber instrument. I'm loving this guitar!!
Well constructed and solid with mirror finish. I found no defects of any kind in mine.
It's definetly well worth the money as it plays and sounds comporable to wood guitars. Not quit as warm as wood but the volume and clarity of this instrument is impeccable. I'd definetly recomend to my friends.

Comments about RainSong Black Ice Series BI-WS1000N2 Graphite Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have 4 Excellent Martin Guitars of Various styles and love each one. I spend 6 mo in Arizona and found it difficult to keep them hydrated, in tune and playing well because of the need to have hydration measures constantly in use. Although this guitar doesn't sound quite as good as my D-28 or Clapton Martin, I can leave it in the guitar stand, it never goes out of tune, has a wonderful action (as good as the Clapton really) and if I want to get fancy there is always the Electronic option (which is of very high quality). For an arid climate that can endanger other guitars this is simply the very best option. As a playable guitar it has few peers (and all are a lot more money). I have recommended it to friends and each is happy with the purchase

Comments about RainSong Black Ice Series BI-WS1000N2 Graphite Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had a chance to play one of these at a local store and was impressed. Great tone albeit somewhat different to what someone would expect. Not as warm as the tone of a wood acoustic, more like a cross between a guitar and a piano in a good way. Bass is very deep and pronounced, treble is nice and clear and does not get drowned out by the bass, very balanced tone. Rock solid construction and stable no matter what the climate is like inside or outside. If you're interested in one of these it's probably because you've had headaches with keeping you high-end, wood acoustic in tune and properly humidified. This is not necessary with the Rainsong. Always in tune even if it's been a while since you last had it out. Raining outside and with your wood guitar it's probably going to need to be tuned since the wood has reacted to the additional moisture in the air and has caused the strings to go a cent or two sharp. Not the case with the composite, it's the biggest advantage. Playability is decent out of the box but the action comes from factory on the high side. If you're a heavy strummer it's prob better to keep it this way to prevent buzz. If you play finger style or have a light touch you would prob benefit from taking the saddle down an eighth inch or so. The Fishman preamp is excellent. The nut width is nice at 1-3/4 so if you have large hands as I do you should feel comfortable anywhere on the neck. Excellent tuning keys, they are Rainsong branded but seem like Gotohs. The neck profile is odd to me and is one of my complaint areas. It a D shape and I wish it was more of a C shape, the shoulders would help keep my hand from cramping up. Zero defects in workmanship, quality oozes out everywhere and it really shows in the tone
