Meticulously crafted to be unique in design and unique in tone.

The Rainsong Black Ice Series BIJM1000N2 Graphite Acoustic-Electric Guitar embodies Artistry. Each instrument is unique. The soundboard on each guitar is meticulously crafted to achieve an aesthetically pleasing appearance without overbuilding it. Each soundboard is individually conceived so every guitar is unique. Unique in design and unique in tone.

How do you describe RainSong's JM? Three words: loud, loud, and loud. This is the largest body RainSong builds. The sheer size, combined with the attributes of Projection Tuned Layering make the JM one of the loudest acoustic guitars on the planet. But the JM is not just about power. The narrow waist and some layering refinements specific to the Jumbo soundboard give the JM some real fingerstyle grace. The guitar is strong, but impeccably balanced, with bass, mids and trebles distinct, clear and loud.

The N2 neck is a result of an extensive, long-term collaboration with the renowned artist Steve Miller and Master Luthier John Bolin. The neck design is based on a modified "U" profile that has been popular in guitars since the 1950s. While the N2 has a substantial feel, it is ergonomically sound and actually results in better transfer of string vibration energy to the soundboard. The N2 features a truss rod that is accessible from the head stock. Graphite does not warp or bow with changes in humidity and temperature. The purpose of a truss rod in the N2 is to allow customization of the relief to suit individual preferences. Includes case.

Comments about Rainsong Black Ice Series BIJM1000N2 Graphite Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Beautiful guitar that plays perfectly ! rainsong necks are amazing and the Black Ice models are a head turner!!
For a Jumbo, it doesn't have the 'Boom' of say a j200, but plugged in it is a monster !! very cool plugged in. - Nothing like it

    Great Guitar!

    By Richard Horn

Comments about Rainsong Black Ice Series BIJM1000N2 Graphite Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I played my first Rainsong guitar over 10 years ago. I was not impressed at the time. The sound was very shrill and brittle. Wow, they have made great progress since then. This is a great guitar. All the advantages of composite materials, with very few of the disadvantages. First, the guitar just sounds great - like a cross between a Taylor and a Gibson J-200 (in a good way). The lows are very present but well balanced with the mids and highs. The highs are present but not shrill - more bell like. The note separation is particularly good.

The neck is wider than typical which is great for fingerpicking but doesn't hurt strumming styles either. I prefer having it this way now but it does take a little getting used to. So the guitar sounds and plays great and I will definitely be keeping it. Here are my few nitpicks for those of us wishing for perfection. The guitar comes with Fishman electronics and I would have prefered it without. The fretboard edges are a little sharp and might cause problems during prolonged play. The fretboard is also very flat which makes some things easier and somethings more tiring. I'd prefer a little more radius for when I'm playing a lot of bar chords. This guitar uses bridge pins which is traditional, but an un-neccessary evil these days. And lastly, is the finish. Rainsong might find beauty in the raw graphite weave but I do not. I would prefer some sort of painted finish distinguish my guitar from the rest.

These minor nitpicks aside, it is really a well built, fine tuned instrument. The workmanship is spectacular and it feels like it is definitely worth the money. Oh, and by the way, it's LOUD.
