OVERVIEW

Signature RainSong sound in a deep-chambered, carbon-fiber and glass-fiber body.

Rainsong's Hybrid Series H-WS1000N2 Deep Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar uses a mixture of carbon and glass fibers to create a moderately priced instrument with powerful, open sound that's impervious to climatic conditions. This revolutionary guitar is wonderfully versatile; blending the best elements of Rainsong's large and small body profiles results in an acoustic-electric that is both comfortable and amazingly versatile. The voluminous body is capable of producing powerfully rich and rounded bass notes. Trebles are crisp and resonant and balance beautifully with the midrange that is harmonically complex yet articulate. Whether you play seated or standing, you'll find the light weight and body contours supremely comfortable. The body cutaway is extra deep and invites forays into the high-note range. Recording artist Steve Miller and master luthier John Bolin collaborated in the shaping of the N2 neck profile that is built for extended performances without hand fatigue. The neck design is based on a modified "U" profile that has been popular in guitars since the 1950s. The N2 has a substantial feel that is ergonomically sound and results in better transfer of string vibration energy to the soundboard. RainSong's N2 features a truss rod that is accessible from the headstock. Graphite does not warp or bow with changes in humidity and temperature. The purpose of the acoustic guitar's truss rod is to allow customization of the relief to suit individual preferences. At the heart of the RainSong Hybrid H-WS1000N2 guitar is an impressive electronics system, the Prefix+T. This preamp features ultraquiet electronics and volume, bass, treble, and semi-parametric contour controls. In addition to a built-in chromatic tuner, the Prefix+T adds a brilliance control and a phase switch and notch filter to help fight feedback.

Made like a Gun! Plays like a Rainsong!

By Krishna Das

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-WS1000N2 Deep Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I didn't know that there was a world outside tonewood until I bought a Rainsong. A lot of reviews went into my head before I bought it. Rainsong isn't available anywhere in Denver CO even for a Demo. So I had only 2 choices; either driving to Salt lake city or Vegas. I couldn't do either due to time constraints. Come Thanksgiving, I ordered a Rainsong coz after reading so many reviews, I was so sure that I wouldn't be disappointed with this AXE. The Conclusion: This is one guitar which can be bought without playing in-store!Its is a beautiful looking guitar. The picture doesn't really do justice to its looks. The build quality is really amazing. The people at Woodinville really give time for each guitar and it is evident in its exquisite finishing! There is a depth to its bass and the tone is amazingly bright. The beauty of this guitar is that the Bass and the Treble both are well balanced and it is surprisingly loud enough. I also tried hooking it up to an Amp to test the fishman electronics. The tone is really sharp and distinct.I have observed that this guitar does holds onto its tuning quite nicely. Denver CO has a dry weather, but this doesn't really bother the guitar. NO HUMIDIFIER REQUIRED!The guitar comes with a TKL custom hardshell case with a Rainsong Logo embossed on it. I registered this guitar with Rainsong and guess what, The customer support folks sent me 3 custom made picks with Rainsong logo on it (I had mentioned this in the comments when registering). That was really nice of them!Rainsong - You can never go wrong with it. Pick one up!

Great Guitar

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-WS1000N2 Deep Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great guitar.
This is the best playing acoustic I've ever had. Love the bigger N2 neck and the electric sized frets. As a primarily electric player, those were the most important features. The electronics with built in tuner was also a great plus.
Build and setup are excellent. The action is a tad high for me (electric player) so I might have that lowered at somepoint, but it was setup just as well as any high end Taylor or Gibson I've played.
This is a great value for this guitar. The graphite/glass combo actually sounds pretty good and I love the fact that I don't have to worry about humidity changes in the great white north. I actually like the look of the gloss finish compared to the studio series and the hardshell case is also a big plus.

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-WS1000N2 Deep Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Light and bright w/ the chunkiest neck I've ever played (in a good way). Only small gripe is the end pin lip doesn't seem too reliable for holding a strap . . .
Everything you need on an acoustic.
so far so very good!

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-WS1000N2 Deep Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I use this guitar for daily practice and gigs. The neck is very comfortable. The body is very cozy and easy to hold. I love not worrying about car heat and humidity. The sound is very well balanced. If you don't like the sound try different picks until you dial in your sound. It is very sensitive to pick materials, shape and size. If you use harmonics you won't find a better guitar for harmonic sustain. Notes ring very evenly and clear. The only trouble I find is that open string ring louder than fretted strings so that can cause some problems with certain playing styles. The case is dead weight. Nothing good about it except that it will keep your guitar from getting damaged getting from A to B. Problem is that it's too heavy. Also looks like less than stellar craftsmanship. Not impressed with the case. It doesn't make sense to have such a cool guitar and then pair it up with such an ugly heavy case.

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-WS1000N2 Deep Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

What a surprise, this guitar has a great voice, I changed strings, tweeted th neck just a bit and am amazed at both as a acoustical and electric guitar. Pre-amp works great, sounds as good as my expensive Martin. My only complaint is that the strings are a little closer than I would like, but I am able to work around that.

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-WS1000N2 Deep Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This really is a very nice guitar. Great sound, impervious to changes in temperature and humidity, very lightweight, and looks gorgeous. It sounds especially nice plugged in when a decent finger-style guitarist is playing it.

I knocked a star off because the guitar is poorly balanced. The body is so lightweight that when you are using a strap with the pre-installed strap buttons the head stock wants to plunge to the floor and the body of the guitar wants to pivot forward. You have to actively think about keeping the guitar in position with your right arm to prevent it from doing so. My wood acoustic stays in playing position with no effort on my part. I would rather be focusing on my chord changes and strumming/picking than on trying to keep the guitar in position.

If you always play sitting down, give it 5 stars. I like to play standing.

    My "New" Favorite Guitar

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-WS1000N2 Deep Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my new favorite guitar. I bought it to be my work guitar - I teach guitar lessons in the Texas Hill Country and am forced to leave my guitar in the trunk of my car. The nature of the carbon-fiber made it perfect for the 100 degree temperatures. I cut a thinner saddle and played with the truss rod to suit my style of playing and interest in a lighter action. The neck is great. The sound is clean and loud when pushed. My friends that play it want one too. I recommend it without reservation.

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-WS1000N2 Deep Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

just bought a used Rainsong Hybrid H-WS1000N2 and I am very pleased with it.
I primarily wanted it to keep in my office, ready for occasions when music is requested (It's a church). My office is a converted room with no direct heating, so I use a window air conditioner when needed and a space heater...neither of which I leave on when not there. The temperature and humidity changes are huge, and other guitars I have kept there have suffered...including all-laminate and even an all-HPL with "stratabond" neck. (That one went wanky in just a month, and I never expected THAT from a build that seems like it should handle the worst.)
Having read some reviews of the hybrids, I found the description of the "mellower" tone appealing - many claim, probably correctly, that the damping effect of the glass fibers make it seem more "woody" in tone. I just know that I loved the tone immediately, and was really pleased with the volume (being a dread lover, this speaks to me). What is especially nice is the balance between the frequencies, and the playability (with a slight lowering of the saddle.)
I am confidant it will be comfortable in my office....if I can bring myself to leave it there! I have also decided, with ease, that this will be my gigging guitar.

Comments about RainSong Hybrid Series H-WS1000N2 Deep Body Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I moved to Pa and all my wood acoustics went south on me. I kicked buying one of these around for a couple years. Got this thing delivered and I love it. They are alot better looking than the pictures. I was kinda thinking a crotch rocket fender but it has a nice gloss finish on it. Right out of the box it tuned up good on the onboard tuner, has great action and is easy on the fingers. It has a really good sound to it.Its not as good as my Collins but I really like it. Plugged it in and you can get some really good tones out of the electronics. I know I will be making a lot of tracks in my studio with this one and I won't have to worry about its humidifier. It comes with a very road worthy case. Excellent guitar ! I hope this helps anybody who has been kicking this around.

I am very impressed with this guitar i can leave it out in the same room as my wood stove. It never goes out of tuning, Which is nice. The neck is absolutely wonderful to play. The action is nice and low, i get no buzz from the frets even when playing rather hard. If you buy this you will not regret it....
