Brilliant sound, comfortable size.
The RainSong Orchestra Model is the smallest and most refined of all RainSong shapes. It is Rainsong's most comfortable and intimate guitar, with an immediacy of presence that makes it a favorite with the coffee house crowd. The treble, already a breathtaking attribute of RainSongs, and the carbon sound are simply sublime in this little guitar. A crystal bell clarity, balance, superb separation of individual notes, and an expansive dynamic range make the all-graphite body OM1000 one of RainSong's most individually expressive guitars.
Because of Projection Tuned Layering, the OM1000 is capable of strong projection. It won't rattle windows like the jumbo or the dreadnought, but the RainSong OM1000, when driven, packs a lot of power and punch for a small-bodied guitar.

I waited about three years to find a used OM-1000...I called Musicians Friend and they told mne this one was like new so I went ahead and got another 15% off due to a sale. I haven't regretted it....It is the right shape for me...it is so light and playable....it sounds good acoustically but it sounds great plugged in....I have a custom made lightweight solid wood dreadnought...rosewood/western red cedar... that sounds better acoustically but is fragile and has o pickup....sooo...I say the wooden guitar is for acoustic jams and the rainsong is for performing on stage.
Accurate built in chromatic tuner...high quality electronics.
Beautiful finish....extremely lightweight...straight neck...low action....quality tuners.
Yes, it's pricey...but it is a high quality guitar.

WOW - finally got to check one of these out, and really, the pictures do not do it justice. The carbon fibers actually sparkle, and with the clear-coat finis there's a depth that is almost holographic. It's very subtle though, not overpowering at all. And even the back of the neck is beautiful. It looks like snakeskin. The tone is amazing. Notes seem to jump out; there is a clarity that I don't hear from many other guitars.

My RainSong OM-1000 is a welcome addition to my guitar arsenal. I was immediately won over by the guitars light weight (you won't believe how light they are!) The feel of the graphite construction is really solid and smooth and the graphite looks equally sharp. The tone took a little getting used to, however. At first I found the sound to be a little unforgiving because it's SO pure and uncolored. I quickly realized that this is the beauty of the material and that purity is something I've really come to appreciate, especially when playing solo fingerstyle pieces. The stability of the graphite makes this my go to guitar for alternate tunings.

This is an extraordinary instrument. It is a joy to play, lively and expressive in a variety of styles, plugged or unplugged. I own a Dupont MD-50, but have to admit Gypsy Jazz sounds fantastic on the Rainsong, even if it doesn't look the part.
