Balanced cutaway body and Steve Miller approved N2 neck.

The Rainsong Studio Series S-WS1000N2 Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a wonderfully versatile guitar. Combining the best qualities of large and small bodied guitars, this body shape is ideally suited for a variety of musical situations. A large, deep chamber gives the WS strong projection and rich bass. The narrow waist and tight upper bout allow for a ringing treble, good balance and clear definition of individual notes. Overall, the WS is impeccably balanced. The shapely curves and light weight make the WS a comfortable guitar to cradle or stand with. The extra deep cutaway encourages playing up the fretboard.

The N2 neck is a result of an extensive, long-term collaboration with the renowned artist Steve Miller and Master Luthier John Bolin. The neck design is based on a modified "U" profile that has been popular in guitars since the 1950s. The N2 has a substantial feel that is ergonomically sound and results in better transfer of string vibration energy to the soundboard. The N2 features a truss rod that is accessible from the head stock. Graphite does not warp or bow with changes in humidity and temperature. The purpose of a truss rod in the N2 is to allow customization of the relief to suit individual preferences.

Featuring a tough, non-glossy Fine Texture finish, the Studio Series scales back on flashy appointments to deliver the signature RainSong sound and playability in a rugged, road-worthy package. Includes case.

Comments about Rainsong Studio Series S-WS1000N2 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I play outside gigs so I needed a guitar that wasn't affected by changes in heat and humidity and also played well & sounded good through my board. This guitar does the job!I have played different Rainsong models but none of them had the "fine" finish on the sound board like this one. Because of my playing style, I touch/rub the area below the sound hole, so due to the textured finish it creates a "brushing" sound. I must add a pick guard to eleviate the problem. I highly reccomend you test drive it at a dealer first. Except for the finish it's a great guitar!!

Rainsong S-WS1000N2 Acoustic-Electric Guitar

Comments about Rainsong Studio Series S-WS1000N2 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

If it played as good out of the box as it sounds and I didn't have to pay a lutherie to really set it up to my liking, and it was a little less pricr, I'd rate it a 10. But overall I'm extremely pleased.
Great tone and volume. Very cool looking, too. Love having a built in tuner. The electronics sound surprisingly good for an under saddle piezo. When it arrived I picked it up in the cardboard box and wondered if they forgot to put the guitar in it... it's amazingly light which is great for my old shoulders! Although this model doesn't come with a hard case, the customized gig bag is excellent.
I would like to give a 10 rating but when I received it, the action was quite high. I adjusted the truss rod and that helped but it was still a bit harder to play than I had hoped. I took it to my local lutherieand he took a bit off the nut and the saddle under the lower strings. This made the saddle conform to the curvature of the neck. It now plays wonderfully! I loved the acoustic tone immediately when It first arrived. I host a weekly open mic and it sounds excellent through a PA though I need to boost the bass slightly and decress thr trebble or brightness slightly... other players have really complimented the sound and numerous have even used it to play their slots. I travel a lot and always take an acoustic with me. Now I don't have to worry about the drastic temperture and humidity changes that caused me a lot of grief with my wood guitars. No more humidifier... yippie!
They are a bit pricy, I must admit but I'm still very pleased and satisfied with it.

Best Rainsong ever...

Comments about Rainsong Studio Series S-WS1000N2 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

this guitar will last a long time, stays in tune, sounds great, and I won't have to worry about taking my "good" guitars out....maybe now this will be my good guitar....buy it, it's a nice addition to anyone's guitar arsenal....
Well, in design it's a pretty basic acoustic guitar....I really like the raw finish of the body...the carbon/fiberglass texture and look are really cool....I like the deep body...I was afraid the deep body would be too big, but the cutaway makes up for it...and the Fishman Prefix + T preamp sounds excellent (I've had the same in other guitars)....comes with a nice gigbag
This is the third Rainsong I've purchased.....the first was the older series with the N1 neck....I just didn't like it.....I tried the OM and WS hybrids at the NAMM show this year and I was impressed....so earlier this year I bought the S-OM1000N2....when I received it, I really didn't like the sound, and the finish was a bit off, so it went right back....so I thought I would give Rainsong another chance....so I ordered the S-WS1000N2, with a nice discount...and of course it makes it easier with the MF 45 day return policy....so UPS brings the big ol' Rainsong box....I opened it immediately, and started playing right away, and it was in almost perfect tune.....the sound on this one is sweet and loud....nice full range with nice bass punch and clear highs and mids....and it's very dynamic....you can strum or pick very lightly or play really agressively and it doesn't compress....excellent sounds....probably the only negative is that the neck is kind of chunky, and the nut width is 1.75"....I'm used to a smaller neck, but I'm getting used to it....
Well, some might say some of the Rainsong guitars are expensive, and I agree that some of the higher priced guitars may be a little too much....but that's probably why Rainsong came out with the hybirds....I've had Gibsons and Martins, and they've never stuck around long....I also have a Taylor 510ce which s beautiful and sounds great....but the only way I could afford my Taylor was because it was a NOS from 2004, and I got it for half the current new price.....the Rainsong cost me a little less than the Taylor....now of course the Taylor is solid wood and is absolutely gorgeous, but the carbon/fiberglass of the Rainsong has it's own kind of beauty...and you must remember that the Rainsong is probably pretty much handcrafted....so the regular price isn't bad, and it is made in the USA....and with the discount I think I got a good value....this guitar will last for years....sounds great, the Fishman EQ sounds excellent when plugged in....and the sound has the quality of any good acoustic...and except for comparison, I haven't touched my Taylor since the Rainsong arrived...and I have to keep my Taylor in the case with a humidifier....the Rainsong stays out and ready to play....and with all the great reviews, I think I'm going to save up for the JM-1000....
