I don't understand a review of this guitar below 5 stars, across the board.I've brought this guitar all across the middle east, through Europe, and the Americas and never once had a problem with her. Completely impervious to atmospheric changes and humidity, etc. When the world ends it's going to be cockroaches and rainsong guitars left. The tone is absolutely bright with a set of elixirs plugged in and beautifully warm when mic'ed and it cuts through any other instrument on stage. I hope you're playing is on point because you will be prevelent over the other instruments. Talk about LOUD unplugged!! What a guitar...It's light as a feather and really comfortable to play.I do have one note, however, is that the saddle is slightly tall and the action isn't perfect on these things stock. I had my guitar tech lower it slightly and wow, the thing is such a dream to play. Beautiful looking as it is sounding, be prepared to talk about the guitar as the questions never stop coming.Definitely worth a buy. I've had the guitar for a year now - I initially bought it because I was in the desert and needed something that wouldn't be destroyed due to the violent changes in temperature!BUY!

I owned this guitar less than a month. I do not have any Rainsong dealers for hundreds of miles from me so I bought it unplayed (bad idea). When I got it, yes, it sounds like a guitar, but not a great one. I missed the real wood sound of a guitar immediately. However, I decided to keep and try it out longer. Now, you will hear from people gving positive reviews that the sound grows on you after a few days. True, and that is problem number one. It is a problem because it occurred to me that the audience does not have the several days time for it to grow on them. You have mere seconds for them to do so.Problem number two was that I noticed my left hand getting tired sooner and more often. Then (of course) it popped into my head that the fretboard it made of carbon also and does anyone deny that it is harder than wood? But what made me return it is I noticed after playing a few weeks that the fretboard was changing from shiny black to dull black, really at the first fret. I called Rainsong, the woman said "we do put something on the fretboard but I'm not allowed to discuss what it is." She reffered it to a tech there. He emailed me that "my skin oil had made the fretboard shiny but it was wearing off." Completely ridiculous. The fretboard was shiny when I BOUGHT IT! Now, I had to consider and deal with the fact that Rainsong was not being straight with me about the guitar. I returned it.Raise these review points up a bit if you have not choice because of weather conditions.

Comments about Rainsong WS1000 Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I like the sound of a good Taylor more...just has richer bass. For my current situation, that extra bass is not worth it. Recommend this guitar to anyone who moves a lot or just doesn't want to tune their guitar as often. This guitar is hassle free! I like that the neck is so thin as it's easier to wrap my hand around it or use my thumb to play.
My first guitar was a cheap Yamaha that I didn't like the feel of so I couldn't get into it. My wife got me this one and I love it! So much lighter, action is easy to play and trouble free! I'm in the military so move around/deploy/etc. I'll not own another guitar until I'm retired. Too many horror stories about broken guitars during moving, got wet = endless mildew, and humidity issues. My dad's Gibson Heratige broke in Afghanistan just because of humidity. When I travel, I want to be able to take whatever guitar I own with me without having these kinds of concerns.
Have had zero issues with mine! Beautiful and functional all around after 2 years. Would have liked a pic guard included.
Depends on your situation. Since I move a lot, it's worth the investment. If you don't, that would take away a big reason to get it.

Comments about Rainsong WS1000 Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
It does stay in tune, which is very useful for outdoor playing. Thee tone unplugged is not really what I like. It lacks low end, but to be fair I've found most (but not all) guitars it's shape and size also have good high and mid but lack bass. It sounds better unplugged than an Ovation (which I think sound like a plastic toy unplugged, but good plugged in). To guage my perspective, I really love my Martin HD-28V. The sound is totally awesome and it's a beautifullly crafted instrument. I bought he Rainsong to get a cutaway and to play outdoors, and it works for that. The first one I got had a wrinkle in the fabric on the back, and a scratched headstock by the low E tuning knob. It should never have left the factory that way in my opinion. Musician's Friend send me a return label and I exchanged it. The replacement looked great. The case is very nice. Both the guitar and the case are American made, which thrills me, but is also why it's very expensive. So to summarize, it looks cool, sounds mediocre unplugged, and is way overpriced in my opinion. I think it's very well suited for someone wanting to play outdoor gigs amplified.

Comments about Rainsong WS1000 Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
The Rainsong WS1000 is truly an amazing guitar. It has a unique and truly wonderful sound. The tone is truly as refined as any high end guitar I've ever played. I am most impressed with the durability and stability of carbon fiber as compared with wood. It's great to be able to take this fine sounding guitar out in the dampness or even rain of a summer evening and not give a thought to moisture damaging the guitar. I own several high end guitars including Gibson, Taylors, Martin and Collings. The Rainsong WS1000 is right at home with this grouping. It is very light, great sounding - especially amplified - and is a delight to play. It also sparks lively interest and conversation when jaming with people who have always played wood guitars. The Rainsong is an amazing guitar due to its high quality sound, unique appearance and take it anywhere durability.
Comments about Rainsong WS1000 Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This guitar is beautiful in both look and sound. The guitar is loud and clear across the whole tonal spectrum. Plugged in sound is also excellent. It's also incredibly light. The UPS man couldn't believe it was a guitar. "A guitar case?""No, a guitar in a case."Excellent setup from the factory. Beautiful craftsmanship.I had wanted a Rainsong for several years now and had been waiting for the right time (monetarily and otherwise). When I saw a "Scratch and Dent" model on sale I decided to take a chance and save a little extra. At first I couldn't even find the "flaw". Then I found some tiny bubbles in the clear coating on the back of the neck. The surface is perfectly smooth and they're hard to see against the carbon fiber pattern so it seems like a great deal to me!
Comments about Rainsong WS1000 Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I bought a Rainsong WS1000 about 5 months ago or so and wow! there is nothing like it. By far the lightest guitar ever made to my knowledge, the tone is unbelievably clear & bright. Highly rated fishman electronics. Customer Service is extremey nice & helpful. One word of advice though buy elixer nanowebs for it, nothing better! The price is a little steep but can you really put a price on somehting you love to do. Also these guitars rarely go out of tune, hot, cold, humid, dry doesn't matter. Plus its a beauty. everyone Ive showed & let play her has been blown away and every respone is "woah your guitar sounds is WAY better than mine". Taylors/Martins dont compare, Rainsong in my opinion is by far one of the best factory made guitars. The only way youll get better is if you get a luthier to hand make a custom guitar and that'll cost starting at 5 grand and up. So in conclusion if your considering a rainsong go for it you won't be dissapointed.
Comments about Rainsong WS1000 Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I walked into guitar center and sat in the acoustic section for a while trying out a lot of the different acoustics. I eventually saw this RainSong guitar, and decided to try it out. As soon as I played that first chord I was completely amazed. The tone is so clear, its not too bright, and and the bass isn't muddy. The tone is as close to perfect as you can get. I was a little sceptical at first concerning that the guitar was made of carbon fiber, don't let it fool you. I have played plenty of Taylors and Martins and this thing has blown both of them away. Yeah, I thought that was impossible too

I bought one used as a retirement present to myself. All I can say is I should've picked one up sooner. The tone, durability, stability, electronics...the whole shebang is non-pareil. I now live in Las Vegas and the desert is not kind to cellulose based instruments, but the Rainsong remains unaffected. This is the finest guitar, and for the price...there is just no equal in value. Long live Rainsong!!
Comments about Rainsong WS1000 Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Hi I am Australian and have taught and played guitar as a hobby for the last fourty six years. I was in the US last year on vacation with my wife visiting our American friends and wanted to buy a guitar there to bring home. Over a period of a month, in most towns we visited, I would investigate their music shops looking for that one guitar that would win my heart. It wasn't until the second last day we were their when I walked into a guitar shop in Nashville that I was shown a Rainsong WS1000. Unlike all the other guitars I played and felt I needed time to decide if I shuld buy, I took out the credit card and bought the Rainsong immediately. This guitar is so light, it's tone is so rich, it almost chimes as you play it. Having tried all the new guitars available in that price range and some even twice the price of the Rainsong, I could not believe how good this guitar felt and sounded. I have fairly short thick hands and fingers and find it difficult to play some finer necked guitars, but the Rainsong feels very comfortable and has a very good action. On my way back to Indiana that evening my wife and I had aranged to meet our American friends at Rosene Kentucky, to partake in some unique bluegrass music. I was so proud of my purchase I had to get the Rainsong out to show the oldtimers there and have a jam with them. This evening of playing pure homegrown music with old timers with music running through their veinss was the highlight of my vacation. My guitar playing friends at home are amazed at this guitar. Not wishing to upset to many purists, I believe the technology used to create this instrument is the way of the future. The only improvement I could think of would be to provide a pick guard. It would provide some protection for the guitar face and may provide an opportunity for some contrast in the apparence of the guitar, but I am not complaining. Regards All.
