Comments about Rainsong WS3000 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Highly recommend this product. I suspect after I own it for a few years I will give it a 10.
I had high expectations for this guitar when I ordered it. I was not able to find one locally which is one of the reasons I ordered it from MF (return it if I was not happy with it). This guitar has beat or exceeded all of my expectations except one. Very comfortable to play. Very evenly voiced across the fret board. Pull offs and hammer ons ring clear in the midst of chords. Very clean sounding. No dead spots on the neck. Holds tune very well. Very light as well as quite loud. The only thing I am not thrilled about are the shark inlays. But once I learned they were originally made in Hawaii and ship in a hard shell case that looks like a shark (hard to explain) I decided I could live with the inlays, of course producing uncredible tones helped over come the in lays as well...
Have not owned it to long yet but the construction appears to be flawless. No irregularities in the finish. Everything fits well and operates smoothly.
I sold a Taylor T5C2 12 koa to buy this guitar. Don't regret the decision one bit. This guitar plays better, volume from high to low strings is much more even and is designed to be played acoustically if you prefer.
Comments about Rainsong WS3000 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I have wanted a 12 string for 25 years. 'Been considering the WS3000 for about 4 years. I have a number of fine guitars, both acoustic and electric, Martins, Strats, Les Pauls, etc. Investing in something not made of wood kept me reluctant if not feeling sacrilegious about such a purchase...you know, nothing could resonate like fine wood. Synthetic fibers sound shallow to a trained ear, have unbalanced overtones, have limited personality.
On the other hand, I've seen and played too many fine wood 12 strings with unstable action, routine intonation problems, and dead spots. Swaying my decision, I also live in a high humidity, subtropical climate (is there any other kind?) and seldom risk any guitar on our sailboat. I liked the notion that the stability of this guitar would not give me hassles on deck either.
I've had my Rainsong for over a month and it has renewed my enthusiasm for guitar playing. It was very impressive right out of the box. The clarity, speed, and the even brightness across all strings caught my attention first. The depth was better than expected and as good as I hoped. After a few weeks when the strings were "well" broken in, it still played with the same quality sound...Still clean, crisp and accurate. Today, the overtones resinate through just as well. The neck is just as fast. The precise, accurate construction is even more obvious, especially when using a capo on aged strings. The guitar responds well to both a strong or gentle attack. As I adjust to the guitar's characteristics and my ear grows acusstomed to it's nuances, the sound remains rich, fresh, interesting, and even surprising.
The electronics create a warm sound when amplified. I am undecided yet if sympathetic notes are picked up as well through a PA system.
This was a great decision. No regrets.
One final comment: Although a carbon fiber guitar is unlikely to appreciate in value as some fine wood guitars, all of my intruments are players, not intended as collector items. No problem! I won't miss out on a lot of fun with this one.
Comments about Rainsong WS3000 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
If you are questioning to purchase on or not, I'd say do it!
I just received my Rainsong WS3000 a couple days ago. I was really hoping it would be everything I have read and heard about. I have not seen one or played one yet. This guitar IS everything I expected it to be.
Workmanship is flawless!
This is a very high quality quitar. It is easily worth what I have spent on it and will last my lifetime.
Comments about Rainsong WS3000 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I bought this Rainsong 12 WS3000 on my 40th birthday 9 years ago, I play in a band contempory Christian worship music, anything from ballads to rock thsi guitar hold its tune and can take it!People can't believe it's almost 10 years old, and you can hear the difference between a wood and carbon, the rainsong cuts thru, you will be heard thru the mix. I love it!!!!
Comments about Rainsong WS3000 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This guitar has the best action, the best sound, the best balance, and the best stability of any 12 string that I've ever played.
Comments about Rainsong WS3000 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
The best 12-string I have ever owned or played. It stays in tune, the action is fabulous, and it sounds great whether it is amplified or not.
