The warm-sounding Recording King ROS-616 Acoustic Guitar offers players the comfort of the classic 12th fret OOO style. Crafted with solid mahogany top, back and sides, the guitar's herringbone purfling adds to the classic, yet unique look.
A fingerpicker's dream, the ROS-616 12th fret guitar is both individual and versatile, for players of all styles. The fully scalloped bracing pattern adds projection and clarity. The guitar's neck is crafted from a single piece of mahogany with an ebony fretboard offering strength, crisp tone, and a highly desirable look. Other notable appointments include a slotted rosewood headstock, Grover butterbean tuners, bone saddle and nut, ivory and ebony dot bridge pins,a pyramid bridge, and a natural finish.
The classic 1920's design of the 12th Fret OOO is the link between classical and modern steel string guitars. Very lightweight, but carefully braced for tonal warmth, the 12th fret OOO has earned a well-deserved spot in the pantheon of great-sounding guitar shapes.
The combination of the 12th fret neck joint and the resulting altered bridge position creates a richer, mellower sound than many of today's brighter-sounding guitar bodies. I tried the ROS-606 & ROS-616 side by side, and, to my ears, the 616 seemed to have a better overall tone...the only negative is the inconsistent staining - but overall this is a great sounding guitar for fingerpicking and strumming.

This guitar is one of the nicest looking All-Hog guitars you will see BUT the best thing about it is the tone, warm, full, clear. The Recording King Ros-616 is a great finger-style guitar.
I don't strum so have no idea how that my sound.
Nice matte/satin finish. Looks great with the off white binding with herringbone around the top. I like the slot head and the fact that it's a 12 fret guitar. The Ros-616 has lots of volume for a 000 size guitar, more volume then an Adi topped OM that I own.
Overall finish work could be better but it's very good for a solid wood guitar at this price
Hard to get a nicer sounding guitar at this price, an excellent value.

I have been searching and playing lots of different guitars for fingerstyle and this one just blew my socks off. I found it in a high end, world class guitar store amidst guitars costing thousands of dollars. It also strums incredibly well. I like to play classical guitar as well, so this one gives me that familiar feel. Easy to play, great action. It's got volume, it's warm, and has lots of complexity in the tone and oozes sound from all directions. Love the light construction. If only it had an abalone rosette.
