OVERVIEW

Revisit an American classic.

The Recording King ROS-627 12th Fret OOO Acoustic Guitar is carefully crafted with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides. The guitar's 1-13/16" nut width makes it perfect for fingerpicking. A hand-rubbed nitrocellulose lacquer finish applied in thin coats ensures excellent projection.

The classic 1920's design of the 12th Fret OOO is the link between classical and modern steel string guitars. Very lightweight, but carefully braced for tonal warmth, the 12th fret OOO guitar design has earned a well-deserved spot in the pantheon of great-sounding guitar shapes.

The combination of the 12th fret neck joint and the resulting altered bridge creates a richer, mellower sound than many of today's brighter-sounding guitar body shapes. Matching the rich tone and clear string separation typical of a classical guitar, with the projection of a traditional steel string, the Recording King Century Series ROS-627 12th fret guitar gives players the best of both worlds. Case sold separately.

Comments about Recording King Century Series ROS-627 12th Fret OOO Acoustic Guitar:

I couldn't get the guitar to tune properly and their was some of fret buzz. The guitar is beautiful but for my taste the sound leaves a lot to be desired.

      Recording King ROS-627

      By Ib Hansen

Comments about Recording King Century Series ROS-627 12th Fret OOO Acoustic Guitar:

Once I have owned a Blueridge BR-163 and a Br-180. Both wich are very good in sound. But i did not like the thin neck, the orange toner, the poly lacquer and so on. I was a little worried on its arrival if it would be as good. It is. This guitar has a better bass, its close to a Martin. Im impressed.
Very nice specs, ebony bridge and fretboard etc. Then frets are well dressed with no sharp edges. They are like the frets of a Martin. Good tuners. I have no problems with my neck, its perfect.
Her I only give 7 out of 10. Excactly as in the other review, there is small problems with the bindings, and the rear binding has sharp edges. However the base guitar seems good quality. so its no big deal.
The sound is really good, its loud, its focused, it has a good bass and distinct treble, i can not give less than 10.

      ROS-627 Very Nice

      By Studebecker

      from Cincinnati

Comments about Recording King Century Series ROS-627 12th Fret OOO Acoustic Guitar:

Purchased this guitar and have had it over two weeks. After the initial tuning it took a few hours to open up and then improved again over the next couple of days. Very fun to play finger-picking styles. The herringbone matches Martin guitars and mine, side by side with a Martin, the wood and binding looked very similar. While not a $3000.00 Martin, it is an excellent value that I have enjoyed quite a bit. Downside is there are several finish flaws, Edge was sharp on one rear binding and rough, areas near neck show uneven finish. Bridge is not as refined as a Martin or Taylor for example. That being said, the sound is fun, it plays very nicely and comfortable right out of the box.
