OVERVIEW

All-solid Sitka spruce and mahogany tonewoods in a small-bodied dreadnought scale.

Recording King's 10 Series guitars give players the benefits of all-solid tonewoods in a great-sounding, low-key package. The RP-10 Single 0 is a great-sounding small body based on a traditional design with a 25.4" dreadnought scale length for extra projection. The width of the bone nut is 1-3/4".

Each 10 Series guitar is crafted with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. Descending-size fretboard dots and tortoise binding give them distinctly vintage and tasteful styling. They deliver the classic sound and historic design Recoring King has built their name on.

Decent Tone - Uneven Quality

Comments about Recording King RP-10 0-Style Acoustic Guitar:

I really want one of these. In fact, I've had 3 of them sent to me. All were returned. Two with a twisted neck and a bridge with a serious gap under it. (MF might have sent me the same guitar twice, but they say it can't happen.) One with grit and shavings under the finish. I can't argue with the other reviewers about the tone of this guitar. Good balance with decent bass for a small body. It's also very comfortable due to its body size and neck shape. Did I say I really want one of these? I'll probably try again - a good one is a steal of a deal.

As to a recommendation. Yes I would recommend it with the caveat that you may have to return it once or twice (or three times) before you get one that is well made.

Comments about Recording King RP-10 0-Style Acoustic Guitar:

recording king and music link knocked yet another one out of the park with their rp10 all solid wood 12th fret single O acoustic offering. the fit, finish and workmanship are both second to none. the all important neck angle has been properly set to allow tweaking the saddle to yield an electric low action (for us fingerstyle guitarists) to happen, IF need be. with any new acoustic, it will always take some playing time to allow the wood to settle in and the top to "season" the tone to its optimum, but the geometry of this guitar's build, coupled with the slightly deeper than normal body, makes for a rich and full sound right out of the box, with that classic mid-range small body tone vibe - it will only get lots better with added playing. the vintage .080x.045 fretwork is excellent, as is the nut relief cut of the bone nut. the neck back shape is a large vintage round "C" that's almost but not quite a "D". it's a pleasure to have a standard solid headstock rather than a slot head that makes fiddling with string changes more annoying than the aesthetics of its looks. the tuning machines are modern designed that work extremely well, but from a vintage classic perspective, and to lighten the headstock a bit, i changed them in favor of grover open back sta-tites, simply because i could and just like their looks and slightly higher 18:1 tuning ratio - this is NOT a mandatory or even a desired mod most everybody else. add in that it's all solid wood (excellent wood selections, too!), with bone nut and saddle, and this is truly a classic rendition of the classic single "O" acoustic 12 fret acoustic guitar. it has superb playability, resonance, tone and lots of output projection. basically, this is a $1000+ guitar offered for waaay less than half that price tag. get one. i promise you will not be disappointed.

Comments about Recording King RP-10 0-Style Acoustic Guitar:

When I saw 'solid wood' at such a reasonable price it really caught my attention. MF made me an even better offer that I simply couldn't refuse. One of the best buys I've ever made. I put a Fishman Rare Earth hum bucker on it and it sings like a bird. I love to look at it almost as much as I love to play it. You won't regret buying this guitar. Even if you only hung it on the wall to admire its still well worth the money.

I wanted a small body guitar to practice with and take when I travel. I had no idea I would fall so in love with this guitar that I would stop playing my others!
Great sound, detail to quality, and performance.
