With vintage good looks, cool retro styling, and modern electronics.

The Richmond Dorchester is an electric guitar that will definitely turn heads. But the best part—The Dorchester guitar sounds even better than it looks! This tone giant features a 25-1/2" scale, 2 classic sounding Lace Alumitone humbucker pickups, housed in a double-cutaway chambered body with a silver leaf maple center and poplar wings. The Dorchester guitar's pickups are controlled by separate volume and tone knobs, along with a 4-way switch to select between various tantalizing sounds. The first position puts the neck and bridge pickups in series, giving you fatter tone and more output.

The Dorchester guitar's bolt-on rock maple neck has the worn-in feel of an Ergocut rosewood or maple fingerboard for an incredibly comfortable playing experience. This Richmond beauty is finished off with high-ratio chrome tuning machines, a chrome roller bridge with fixed tailpiece, a Nordic white extended pickguard and truss rod cover with matching binding on the back. Richmond includes a gig bag with the Dorchester Electric Guitar.

Richmond Guitars received 'Best In Show' honors at Summer NAMM 2008!

Comments about Richmond by Godin Dorchester Electric Guitar:

I have had my Dorchester for about six months now and I really love it. I have the natural finish model with the Bigsby trem. I have several top of the line Gibson and Fender guitars that all sound and play great, but my Dorchester has a brightness and a clarity that just sounds so great on recordings. This guitar seems to sit in an eq space all its own in the mixes, it sits well with the other instruments while also maintaining its own clarity even when low in the mix. I play mostly rhythm guitar and up and down the neck triads/riffs with it. It matches up beautifully with my Fender Deluxe amp. It sounds so amazing with various delay and modulation effects. When I pair my Dorchester with a Strymon Blue Sky reverb I know that I won't be able to stop playing for the next few hours at least.
I have always wanted a Ric but my hands are too big for the Ric's narrow neck. This guitar has a sound that reminds my of the Ric but with a neck that seems similar to a fender tele. The pickups are unique sounding. Each of the four pickup settings are so different from one another, but all pleasing and usable.
When I want a huge sound I'll still use my 335, when I want to be weird I'll still use my Jazzmaster or tele, when I want to be smooth I'll use a stratocaster. When I want drones, triads, jangle, riffs, or tight rhythms I'm reaching for my Dorchester.

    Great Quality Built In Canada

Comments about Richmond by Godin Dorchester Electric Guitar:

I've played this guitar now for around 6 months and I'm never disapointed when I pick it up. I love the Non-F hole look and anti feedback as well as the easy playing satin neck. The neck is the most important part of this guitar, its slick and fast but still got enuff to cup with ur hand(much smaller than most semi-hollows.) The only gripe I have is the Sensor Alumitone pick ups are not trebly enuff for me(just my presonal taste) and that I would like it to have 22 frets. Try it U'll luv it

Comments about Richmond by Godin Dorchester Electric Guitar:

When I first received this guitar, I did not like the look of it when I took it out of it's case. The thought of selling it crossed my mind. Then I plugged it in - WOW! This guitar not only is a tone monster, it plays great! The neck and the fretwork are incredible. For its size it is light because it is chambered. This also adds to the sound. People who complain about the quailty of today's guitars and spend thousands on vintage ones should pluck a grand down on this one. They would not be disappointed in the quality or sound. As for it's looks... It really grows on you... think Firebird. PS - The case is cool.

Comments about Richmond by Godin Dorchester Electric Guitar:

First off I'm a bass player, not a guitarist. I play guitar from time to time to get ideas down but I never liked the feel of an electric guitar... until I tried this thing. Kind of cheesy looking but it sounds and feels perfect. It's got more low end and warmth of a strat without losing any of the clarity. Give this thing a try. Doesn't have a tremolo but big whoop.
