There has been more than one time I have played my 330 without having plugged it in to an amplifier - that is how good the sound is on this guitar. The one I own is a red fire glow but when you turn it over, the backside is half fireglow/sunburst and half tiger stripe (see photo). This may have been a mistake on the part of the manufacturer but it DOES make it a very unique and maybe even one-of-a-kind guitar.

Comments about Rickenbacker 330 Electric Guitar:

The minute the Rickenbacker arrived, I tore open the box and plugged it in. Right away, I could hear that perfect Ric tone, even through a garbage 15w amp. The fretboard and action are pretty spot on for me.

Overall, I was incredibly thrilled with the factory setup and haven't actually changed a thing on it.

So far, the only downsides I've found are pretty common complaints. The knobs and switch do feel a little cheap, especially in comparison to the rest of the instrument. The 330 does do a pretty good job of staying in tune but now and again the B string will just wonk out. This may be due to the amount of work I put on that string (I don't feel like I do anything extra there but I've got to try and be objective) OR the fact that Colorado can be pretty volatile with guitars if they're not being humidified all the time.

At the end of the day, I got an instrument I've wanted since I was about 6 years old and I can honestly say that my next guitar will almost certainly also be a Rickenbacker.

Comments about Rickenbacker 330 Electric Guitar:

This is my second Ric (I also own a 360), and they sound almost identical, which is a tribute to Rickenbacker quality control. Both are gorgeous instruments without a flaw. Both arrived with nearly perfect setups, though I ended up putting on lighter gauge strings. I doubt I have to describe the sound to you. Most people call it "jangly", but I find it more "chimey". It's tone is as unique as a strat or tele. I love it.

While I love the Ric sound I find to get the very best out of it requires a certain amount of compression. That's not a bad thing, just a bit of a caveat if you don't already know. I know a lot of players use a Jangle Box to cover that.

To sum up, this is a pro-level instrument and there's a reason it has so many 5 star reviews.

Comments about Rickenbacker 330 Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar since 2006, and it is just a fabulous guitar. I own Gibsons (Les Paul and SG), a PRS McCarthy Hollowbody 1, and this guitar is right up there for tone and above them for looks. Regarding looks it is my favorite guitar to look at (Fireglo finish). Playability is excellent. Has a very unique sound. I play it through a 1976 Fender Vibrolux and a couple Marshall 2204 amps. Has a nice woody sound. Not as jangly as most people describe it. The sound is very unique. It does what it does and that is what can make your tone/sound unique. Its only limits are ones people set for it, and by that I mean you have to spend time with it to dial it in with your amp of choise. A great tube amp does it wonders. If you have limited experience with a 330 then it may not give you what you want. Be patient with it and think outside the box. It does a lot more than the Beatles.

Comments about Rickenbacker 330 Electric Guitar:

The 2014 Rick 330 is a fine instrument. Its a great guitar to own and its also more versatile than some people give it credit for.

The build quality is high and the factory setup was good. I did lower my neck pickup down for more definition. Its a matter of fine tuning to your amp arrangements. The guitar delivers the goods just learn how to use the tone, volume and blender pots to customze your sound for the amp you are using and the type of song you are playing.

I really like having a the 330 six string to go with my 660 12 string and it's a nice addition to my hord of Fender and Gibsons. Get a piece of American music history with a nice USA made Rickenbacker.

Comments about Rickenbacker 330 Electric Guitar:

Rickenbacker has always built beautiful instruments, and this 330 is no exception. The instrument arrived quickly and within the Rickenbacker fitted, black, rectangular case.
Though it was sold to me as a shop demo model, I could not find a mark, smudge, nick, or another imperfection on it. It did require a good set up, though. I adjusted the double truss rods to achieve a nearly flat fret neck, and adjusted the bridge to get a 1.8 mm action at the 12th.
        The result was perfect.
The instrument plays with the unique ease and pleasure that Rickenbackers are known for, and of course, it has the Rickenbacker sound. The knobs are logical, and are very effective. I play through a Vox Cambridge amp.
I chose the 330 model because it sits better on your lap than the 360 does, with its rounded edges. I also like the look of the 330 with its carved maple top and its gleaming Fireglo finish.
        Did I mention its beautiful?

Comments about Rickenbacker 330 Electric Guitar:

I always wanted to own a genuine Rick and the
price was right so I invested and was not
            dissappointed.
The shipping was fast and I was pleasantly
surprised at the almost new condition the guitar
arrived in...almost no signs of play wear and
exceptionally clean for a "level 2, gently used"
            guitar.
After a few tweaks (action adjustment), I
plugged it into my Vox AC4 and hit the opening
            chord to "Hard days' Night"...sweet!
It sounded just like a Ric should sound.
I like the blend knob for mixing the pups'
output and the fast smooth feel of the neck
            finish.

Comments about Rickenbacker 330 Electric Guitar:

Love this guitar. I played Gibson SG, Fender Tele and Hofner President for many years both professionally and for fun but this sounds very different. Beautiful rich warm tone, excellent craftsmanship, looks cool, superb playability.
If you buy one new I would recommend a professional set up, maybe an hour at most, just to set up the neck and intonation. This guitar has dual truss rods which is great for rigidity but needs thought before doing an adjustment.
