Comments about Rickenbacker 650C Colorado Electric Guitar:

I waited a couple of days to write this review. I wanted to get over that new guitar day feeling first, and hopefully offer up a realistic evaluation. First off, the guitar is very well put together. I own seven other higher end American made guitars, and this is right up there. Fret work was very well done, so was the finish. I chose this model because it has the wider fretboard, similar to my Fenders and other guitars. I wanted to make transitioning easy. Rickenbacker guitars have a cool vibe to them. It puts a smile on my face. The tone this thing puts out is huge! The tone controls work well and this thing goes from dark and smokey jazz tones to bright and clean. It never sounds muddy. The pickups are always full and articulate, they are definitely a high point to this guitar and a pleasant surprise. I wouldn't even consider changing them. Tone is subjective and it changes radicaly with different amps and effects, but when you start with such clear, full sounding notes you have a good building block to make your sound. This guitar is definitely a keeper, as is, with no changes. I like that. This model is pretty reasonably priced for a Rickenbacker and I definitely got my moneys worth with this one. It's not cheap by any means, but easily worth the asking price. I'm kinda bummed I waited so long to get a Ric. I'm actually considering selling my American Deluxe Strat to help fund another Rickenbacker solid body model. It's that good.
